OK GUYS, IM NOT TRYING TO BEAT A DEAD HORSE WITH THIS QUESTION, BUT HERE IT IS ANYWAYS.

i am looking at purchasing tires and wheels for my 4x4 titan, that has a 2" level kit on the front. i found what i think to be a good deal on a set of wheels that are----17x9's with a b/s of 4.75. question #1, i know nothing about all the back spaceing and is that to much or ok? #2, i would like to try and put on these wheels, bfg's that are 315/70/17 ='s 34.5's. is this combo going to fit or should i go with the nittos that are 295/70/17 ='s 33.19's. i really want the bigger of the 2 but not sure what fits. please help me.

On the stock 17x7.5" 5.375" backspacing off road pkg. wheels, some have been able to fit those BFGs on without trimming, but with 17x9 and 4.75" b.s. you will definitely have to do the pinch-weld-mod. Might have to with the TG 295s too. I know one guy had to with the TG 295s and 17x9 4.5" b.s. and the rims you're talking about only stick out 1/4" less.

Since most aftermarket rims are more deep dished like this, you might want to stay with stock rims, or do Kartman's pinch-weld-mod

OK, SO EXPLAIN THE B/S THING TO ME. THE MORE B/S YOU HAVE THE MORE THE TIRE STICKS OUT PAST THE FENDER? RIGHT? .....SO ON MY FACTORY TIRE AND WHEEL WHAT IS THE B/S IF ANY?
AND IM NOT REALLY LOOKING TO DO A LOT OF MOD'S, MAYBE A SLIGHT PINCH WELD BUT NOTHING SEVERE. I DID SEE A LIFT THAT WAS 3" IN THE FRONT AND 1" IN THE BACK, IF I PUT THAT ON, DO YOU THINK THE BFG'S WOULD FIT WITH A O'SO SLIGHT PINCH WELD, OR STILL A LOT OF MOD'S??? YOU THE MAN NORCAL, YOU KNOW YOUR WHEEL INFO> >> >> :dude:

No, the other way, low b.s. makes them stick out more, (more deep dish). '04-'07 LE and SE rims are 18x8 w/5.5" b.s. and the XE and Off Road are 17x7.5 w/5.375" b.s.

I'd stick with the 2", especially if you have a 4x4. 2wd can go to a 2.5" level kit.

Personally I like the BFG because it has a 3 ply side wall, but I like the TG size better. You will need to cut more with the BFG.

For reference, I have the 33.5" Toyo M/Ts on the Off Road rims, and my front is lifted about 3" maybe 3.25", (requires aftermarket upper A-arms like the PRG). There are more pics in my gallery with the same lift, and 32.8" BFG AT KO LT285/70/17 (stock size). I think there's one with it just leveled too with the 32.8s.

Don't know for sure ... hope they do too. When it's close, like in the case of the 315 BFGs on the off road rims, some have to trim and some don't. But at least your rims have an extra 1/4" more b.s. than say the Motto Metals with the 4.5" b.s. that I referred too.

Now if you found a 8" width with a 4.75" b.s. they would stick out 1" less, or even if less b.s. like 4.5", 3/4" less. But even a 8" with 4.75" b.s. sticks out 3/4" more than the stock SE and LE rims. Yours 9s will be 1 3/4" further out than stock.

they do make a 17x8 wheel, with 4.5 b/s for 20 bucks cheaper. would u recomend me getting the 17x8 over the 17x9. what would be the difference in the overall look and would the 295/70/17 nittos fit on that wheel fine? thanks man your being a lot of help>>>>>>>>

People run the TG 295s on the 17x7.5" O.R. rims all the time, so an 8 should be no problem. You're looking at Procomp rims ... right? I read somewhere they clear the brake calipers better than some brands.

Yes, definitely better on a 17x8, 4.5" b.s. than the 9" width ... yscty's wheels stick out 3/4" less than the 9" wide with 4.75" b.s. would. Of course the 295s would be slightly bigger ... ~2/5" wider, (1/5" on each side of the rim), and 1/2" more diameter, (theoretically 1/4" more lift, but all tires squish down some, and since they have a 2-ply side wall instead of the BFG's 3-ply, they might squish more under the Titan's weight).

yea, i was looking at the procomp wheels, they are running a very good deal on the size that fits my truck. so 17x8 wheels with some 295 70 17 nittos, i think will be what i get. hopefully just a slight p/w will fit them good. whats the deal with clearing the brake calip.? just another problem im going to have to worry with or what?

I've heard of some people having a little caliper rubbing with aftermarket American Racing rims, in the 17s. But there must be a brake-caliper-mod, (bcm), around here somewhere. Actually, I think it was also Kartman the posted he needed a small amount of grinding, but I never saw a step by step write-up, i.e. plug grinder in; grind here.

Also, with the higher backspacings ... close to stock's, I think with some wheel designs, even in 18's have rubbed. I wouldn't worry about it, but you can always buy local to be sure.
