I cannot manually shift down

When I try to shift down to D1 from a dead stop, my truck will not do so.

Also, I cannot use that little lever on the shifter to down shift.

Any ideas?

Mine doesnt work at all. I had a faulty gear shifter, so the dealer replaced that, now they're saying its the gauge cluster, and i have to replace that now. Gonna burn about 550 dollars out of my pocket... =/

I hope this isnt the case for you as well...
if you use a column type shifter most likely the shifter switch is at fault

I had the same problem in my 2004 Titan and found that a small wire from the shaft with the shifter control lever was cut because it got caught between the metal sections in the shifting column. You might want to check that out. It was a group of 4 wires and in my case the black wire got cut (barely could tell at first) from poor wire routing. I have the 452nd Titan off of the assembly line, you think by now they would have figured this problem out.
i had the same problem about 2yrs ago and the dealership fixed it no questions asked. I never did find out what went wrong. I haven't had that problem again.
mine won't shift down at 59,800 miles will the warranty cover it?
