hey guys....ive been creeping around the site for close to a year now learning as much as i can about this truck i have now that is an absolute beast i must say....with that being said I want to do some sort of lift with some more aggressive tires. I have a 2010 XE CC. I wanted to ditch the stock crap tires and put on some new 18" XD monsters and some 33'' trail grapplers. first question i have is will this fit without the PWM? I dont mind doing it if needed but id rather not. second question is am i going to get killed on MPG if i go to the 4'' spindle and 2'' blocks in the back with the same rim/tire combo? and lastly i had a guy recommend going down to a 17'' rim....is there any bonus or downside to doing this? thanks for all help ahead of time

Yes, it will easily fit 33's, no you can't go down to 17's as they won't clear the calipers. MPG's, yes, figure on at least 3.

so with the 4'' lift figure atleast 3mpg? what about with just the 2'' leveling kit upfront? will i lose mpg with that as well? if so i might as well do the spindles because thats what i really want anyway however i travel a lot for work so i would like to save as much as possible you know?

The list isn't what affects the mpg really... its the tires... I had a 2006 4x4 and from stock tires getting 12-13 mpg to 33s getting 10 mpg... freeway... and like stated very few 17s that will fit... id stick with 18s anyways.. they look better imo

33's should fit without rubbing with a leveling kit. your mpg should not be affected very much by just going up to 33's

PWM with the level spacer alone on front should allow you to clear 33" tires, but since you want more lift as well, the the 4" spindle lift kit, coilover spacer, and rear block will give you the lift you are seeking, as well as allow better movement while running trails and absorbing downward impacts (not with jumping / landing)... As for the 17" wheels, few will allow clearance of the post-07 brake calipers, but the reason for the smallest diameter wheel is to maximize the tire sidewall and natural "air cushion" they will provide while off-roading... 33" tires will have a minimal effect on reducing your gas mileage and will still be easily turned with stock gears... look forward to seeing your mini-lifted Titan soon... ;)

so if i did the 4'' spindle in the front would a 2'' block in the back work? and with the spindles on would there be the need to still do the PWN...honestly id rather not have to do it unless its completely necessary...not to mention i dont know which pinchweld to cut

yes 4" in the front and 2" in the back would be good with 33's. just try to keep the backspacing on the aftermarket wheels near the stock backspacing(not sure what it is)somebody else will chime in

as far as MPG goes would it matter if i got the terra grapplers or the trail grapplers if they were both gonna be 33''? would one get better MPG than the other...obviously i would think the terra grapplers would but i really am not sure?

btw i have a 2wd...sure yall figured that out by now

The wt ratio is minimal between the two, M/T's being heavier... it'll depend mostly on your foot and driving habits... I gave up on fuel economy after I lifted mine w/ 35"s and modding for performance... Steadily get 10 mpg in town and 15 mpg on long hwy trips... When I drive like I stole it, I just watch the gas gauge and fill up at a quarter tank... If I want better gas mileage, I drive the wife's V6 Pathfinder...

For starters, just spindle kit, coilover spacer, and rear block. If you want the best ride with that lift, save for fully adjustable coilovers (eliminate the spacer) and Deaver C30 pack, then dump the block and overload leaf all together... and get traction bars to brace the rear axle and eliminate axle wrap as well as preventing the tranny mount from tearing...

I think 285/65/18 is a 32" in tire. You might want the equivalent to the 295/70/17 which is a 33" tire. I looked at the Terra's didn't find an exact match on an 18" rim. Some of the tire experts on this site would know better.

yea scan your right those are a 32''....i actually want to do a 275/70/18 which is 33.62''..... as far as the lift i want to only be 4'' up all the way around...so i would just do the 4'' spindle and the 2'' blocks in the back....i would probably also change the rear shocks to the bilstiens but thats only needed for the rear correct? im not going to do spacers on along with the spacers becuase like i said 4'' is all im really looking for all the way around....

yea scan you are right i looked on the nitto site and those are a 32 inch tire....i guess im gonna go 275/70/18 which is a 33.62'' tire with the 18'' xd monster wheels and the 4'' spindle upfront with 2'' blocks in the back. Should i also do new bilstiens in the back as well since ill be pushing the stocks to the limits? and if so that would only be needed in the rear correct? does that setup sound like it would work to you guys? like i said thanks for all the help and input and i would like to not have to cut if possible...let me know!

sorry for the double post didnt realize the first one posted last night...im an idiot i know!

so i went and priced the 275/70/18 trail graps which are 33.64'' (or close to it) with 18'' xd monster wheels today and the guy at the shop told me that 33s would look small with the 4'' spindle and a 2'' block...he said i should go 35...i dont want to go 35 because cost and the fact i think i would have to do the pwm and i dont want to do that...point being is there anyone with a true 4'' lift with 33s on it with some pics and does anyone else think they would look small or weird?
