Some guys that aren't worried about the vibration might not keep visiting that thread. And the question could get lost in the discussion. Besides there are already two big discussion threads and not one. I'd just like to gain a bigger audience to get a better polling of which trucks do it. I'm thinking it's affecting the trucks with softer springs and/or softer shocks

On my 08 Titan the dealer ended up "Clocking" my rear driveshaft & that solved my vibration. That was after they threw $7k worth of parts on a truck that had 1200 miles on it.

Ok guys, spent some time getting all the part numbers for the springs, shocks, and driveshafts for all models of non-XD Titans. A couple interesting things I've found:

  • They just revised the rear leaf springs on Aug 1st for almost all trims
  • All trucks use the same rear driveshaft
  • I couldn't find Part Numbers for the rear shocks for the King and Single cabs

I'd like to start populating this by counting how many instances each version is experiencing the vibration. Maybe that'll help point to a particular part.

Mine did it from day one.

Tires rebalanced, still did it.
Tires replaced...Michelins installed, still did it.
Method Roost wheels installed (with custom, exact fit hub centric hub rings, still did it).
All four Michelins replaced (Method Roost wheels), still does it.

Three sets of tires, two sets of wheels @ 6000 miles to-date.

It’s a rear drivetrain issue...not a wheel/tire issue. Most likely a driveshaft geometry issue that manifests itself due to the particular harmonics generated between 62 and 70.

There has to be more Titans with this problem than the small number reported to-date.

Two Frontiers ago I started to get a vibration and it ended up be a slight bit of movement in a u-joint, granted it was from usage wear but sounds similar by descriptions I have read here.
Maybe a batch of joints were slightly not built to spec like when the Bosch timimng chain links were stamped with a dulling dye causing them to eat through the chain tensioners and making a racket. Took a while to figure that out too.
Any chance the tail of the trans needs a shim on the mount and something angular is out of alignment?

Hey everyone the OP started this thread to identify which versions of Titan do vibrate. There is more than a few that have this problem. And I think we know it's not widespread, 98-99% don't have this issue, right?

My 2018 has a build date of 02/18, so it was sitting on the lot for a while before I purchased it at the beginning of this month. When I first got it, there was a small amount of vibration on the highway, but I attribute it to flat spots on the tires from sitting still. Once I got some miles on it, it smoothed out and it's perfect now.

Mine still does it I took it to a different Nissan dealership they said they found a defective rim. They replaced the rim and it’s still there. I haven’t heard from my lawyer if they are going to repurchase it.

2018 Titan
SV 4x4
Midnight addition
4900 miles but it’s been a problem since 130 miles.

crew cab
18"

Aftermarket 20" wheels AND the stock 18's both suck. Dealership tried twice and i've taken it to 2 other tire shops and even tried a whole new set of 20" tires (thanks to Discount Tire). I'm done with this truck. Consumer Affairs will call me next week with a decision on my buyback request. Also have an oil leak near the oil filter. Also have ****ty transmission (shift points, lagging, clunk when stopping). Annnddddd....at only 21K miles my brakes already shimmy. Whole freakin truck shakes when coming off the interstate.

I'm eyeballing a 2018 SV in hopes that the bugs are all worked out because i love these trucks despite my terrible luck.

As far as the brakes go last year my wife complained about her brakes shaking the steering wheel so I did the procedure for bedding in new brakes (google it if you’re not familiar) and it stopped doing it. Sometimes if you heat up brake pads they leave residue on the rotor and when you apply the brakes each time the pads hit that sticky section they grab harder. The bedding in trick helped remove those “hot spots”.
