My 2017 Platinum Reserve arrived tonight and I really love it. I was going to buy an F150 until I saw the interior of the PR and it blew me away. The obvious is everyone knows the Infotainment screen is small and looks like an interface from 2008. Coming from a 2014 Silverado with Mylink this thing looks ancient. I know Ford just came out with a software update for 2016 F150's updating the software interface and adding Appleplay. Is there anything in the cards that something similar might happen for our Titans? Am I just wishful thinking?

I just went the other way. I traded my '17 Platinum for a Tahoe and I'm really impressed by the Mylink and Apple Carplay. I also like not having to take my eyes off the road to find the volume control among all the little buttons on the wheel and it's nice to have a real volume knob. Right now, Nissan only has Apple CarPlay in the Maxima and Murano. One thing Nissan did get right is the 360 camera on the Platinum and Pro4X. Being able to see where pedestrians (kids) are is one of the most brilliant safety features ever. You can literally see yourself pulling in a parking space from above. I hope this system finds its way onto every car available.

I don't know if this is serious. if you cant find the volume on the steering wheel without looking down, you have bigger issues. and there is a "real" volume knob right beside the screen.

I was addressing the OP. He had a Chevy truck and would get it. GM uses a giant volume knob. I've owned three Titans including two 2017, so I'd say I'm vaguely familiar with the layout. As far as your assessment of any "issues" I may have, you don't know me, my education, or my background and I doubt I'll lose any sleep over what you think.

Rico, I know exactly what you're talking about. The volume button on the Chevy wheel sits on the back of the wheel and perfectly within reach of your finger tips where they sit on the wheel. On the test drive of my Titan I almost drove off the road looking for the volume as the layout on the wheel is busy an non-intuitive.

I was just saying it has a volume knob and steering wheel controls. Seems simple enough. Not trying to be a ****. Serious Q why did you have 2 2017. Was one a lemon or something. We have a Tahoe for a work vehicle, new ones are pretty nice

I hope they come out with an update. The infotainment on this car is a joke for 2017. CarPlay should be standard by now. Every time I plug in my iPhone it asks me if I want to update my music library. The system is junk. Too bad, because most everything else is awesome. Obviously was not a deal killer for me, but what the heck Nissan, get you stuff together.

I agree. I bought it assuming at some point they have to update it. Does anyone know if there is an update if we'll get notified or will we have to just keep checking on our own? I mean they signed me up automatically for that Nissan Portal so do they use that as any time of notification system?

I love the around view monitor, unfortunately it wasn't an option in my SL.

I don't think they will notify you from the portal. I have the rear seatbelt recall and the only way I found out was from the mailer and when I talked to the dealer. I am just speculating on this.

I do think that the infotainment system is about as bad as they could have done. Who hates the voice recognition?

When I bought my Titan, I didn?t even know about the around view monitor system! I actually asked the salesman ? who was new and i was his first sell? if I was getting every tech option available and he said yes absolutely! I tried asking my dealership about adding it, but they suck. They handed me off to a couple people who said they weren?t completely sure but probably no! Then I said they should help me trade in my truck with 125 miles, and they told me I?d be upside down! I?m pretty tech savvy, so I?d like to get the parts, and add it myself! Does anyone know if there?s a separate module for the system, or just a program for the infotainment unit? Id like to do a write up on doing it for anyone who wants it lol.

I?d wait for aftermarket support if it?s not already there and go with that, chances are you?d be happier for it in the end. I forgot all about when I switched back to Apple everything not just coming through on the head unit being with android for a few years. It was nice having my texts come up without plugging in my phone. I?m torn between switching out myself, it?s just laziness and not wanting to spend the money on something that isn?t broke or doesn?t make me go faster.
