I'm about to order some big tow mirrors for my truck non heated or powered so it should be a straight forward swap right? I do want to add a led puddle light underneath it. There's a thread around here with the how to. Also a yellow or amber led on the side if it's possible for a blinker like the ford super duty. My other question is where or what have you guys come up with to replace these sheets on the back where it covers the holes mine is starting to peel off on the edges.

Just make sure you get the non power or memory tow mirrors because the mirrors that do have that have a different electrical clip. Other than that, yes it should be a straight swap.

You don't use the sheets with the big tow mirrors. The sheets are there because the regular small mirror doesn't use all of the mounting holes . The Big Tow mirrors will come with a metal plate that has a rubber gasket attached to it. You'll have to clean a little bit of old adhesive off the door once you install the BT mirrors because the metal plate isn't as large as the adhesive sheet cover.

The BT mirrors come heated and powered, and the ones for LE add memory to that. If you have the wiring for heat & power, you need the SE mirrors. If you have an XE, and the wiring isn't there - I'm not sure what wiring is there, if any, for the XE - it won't really matter because you'll have to set both of them by hand, thus the plug won't be used. The SE & LE plugs are different.

They should. I would only buy OEM Big Tow. The aftermarket mirrors have had a ton of complaints and they are really cheap. I have had aftermarket mirrors for another truck and they were super crap side by side with the OEM mirrors.

Oem from the dealer? They'll probably want like 300$ for them ! lol By cheap you mean like plastic wise? Plastic is plastic no? My truck doesn't have power mirrors so if you mean by those things they won't really matter. I'm going to be purchasing through 1A auto.

Nice! And from 1A auto! These trucks look damn good with the tow mirrors. the regular ones are just too damn small for these big trucks and just gets worse after lifting lol.

Did yours come with the fore mentioned gasket and metal plate for the door jam?

After lifting the truck I definitely needed tow mirrors and I've been going back and forth with Tony from 1A Auto about quality and fitment so I ended up ordering just the manual version since my truck is an XE. It does come with the rubber gasket but not the metal piece. Bolts exactly to through the same existing holes. Seems like a durable plastic to me like someone had mentioned earlier... Plastic is plastic right?

Tow mirrors definitely makes the truck look good!

I found the big tow mirrors a bit of a nuisance even with towing a small boat or trailer. I can understand the need when towing a camping rig of size.
I find the stock OEM mirrors to be sufficient with a larger more usable area than the BT`s.
they were good for the bottom mirror to be pivoted down to see the curb when backing up... my smaller mirrors do the same when adjusting them down...

The OEM BT are the ones to get, no offense to anyone... The steel backing plate was included in mine from Nissan. I believe it is a reinforcement plate as well. as the larger surface area of the BT`s create more drag and force on the door body.
You probably could order the plates directly from nissan along with the hardware for a more secure fit.

The aftermarkets have been know to vibrate causing a distortion, the OEM`s do not. the mirror glass quality is also better with the OEM...

JMHO...

for you guys looking to add a turn signal in the mirror, search for replacement glass with that feature and wire it in.
