Instrument glare

1009 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  BlingAlong06
I just bought my new Titan crew cab, long bed, SE model. Driving at night time in open country, when I look out driver's door window, the instrument panel reflects onto the door glass. Does anyone have any fixes for this problem? I've turned the brightness level for instrument panel down as low as it will go but still have real bright glare across outside mirror.

Yeah... Don't look AT the glass, look THROUGH it!

All glass will reflect the most prevalent light source when you are surrounded by darkness.

I recommend you learn to live with it, as it's just basic physics.

Nice first post, BTW....
Funny you post this.......the reviews when the Titan was introduced included this dislike. It's the angle of the unit and the location of the glass that makes this beautiful combo happen. It is annoying at night looking out your rearview mirror, or it was to me. If you get an aftermarket head unit it may help. Mine did. I liked the post...........gah.
Roy365,
Thanks for the info, what is an aftermarket head unit?

I will refrain as to how i WANT to answer that, and try to help you. My mind works in different ways sometimes. LOL

By head unit i mean a different or aftermarlet radio/cd player.
I actually love this! i can stare at my mirror and still know how fast i am going. excellent for traffic

Knock out your driver side window...this would be the simplest fix:jester:
