i am looking into getting cai. ive heard that the s&b is the loudest. how much louder does it actually make your truck?

Under normal load, it almost sounds stock. It really only makes noise when it's sucking at full throttle! It's actually kinda nice.... Not all that loud, IMO....

The Volant is supposed to be the loudest. As Blackbeauty said, the S&B is almost like stock till you push the pedal down more than halfway.

i have an airaid cold air intake and its really load, it also has a whisle sound to it and it also depends on how much restiction the actual filter has.

i put the S&B on my truck about a month ago and i absolutely love it. does sound stock at idle and low rpms. but when you punch it, its a good bit louder, but it sounds very good.

My AEM is just like everyone else stated. Almost stock and idle and roars at WOT.

The subject only asks about intake sound. He says he's thinking about the S&B being the loudest. So, I can let him know about the AEM for his general knowledge. It's called diversity of thought and selection. :rainbow:

I'm not trying to sway your way of thinking or your decision, but I do have a question for you. Wouldnt you be more concerned about the "bang for your buck" as opposed to the sound? Any intake you choose will create a deeper sound upon WOT. Not all intakes will provide the same performance at WOT however. If you have a S&B or any other you will never hear it until you floor it.

They all will help alot over the stock its personal preference and what looks the best to you that will change the decision for most people. I got a AEM and love it sounds really nice on WOT
