Ok, Two weeks ago I "purchased" a Titan. My dealer was going to get the truck I wanted from a dealer about an hour away.

Well, turns out the other dealer said it was already sold. So I've been waiting for the next one to come in (supposedly on the 12th of this month)

But, I kept noticing the exact truck that was supposedly "sold" still online. So I have a friend call and inquire about the exact truck. Guess what, it's still in the lot and he made an offer right off the bat of the exact price I was quoted.

So, either this dealer lied to my dealer because they didn't want to do the trade, or my dealer lied to me because they couldn't work out the dealer trade. If it's the latter, I think the "bait and switch" that was mentioned earlier is true.

I plan on going into the dealer this morning to work this out, because someone is lying to someone. Any ideas?

I assume you followed it through Nissan corp. website? If you gave a deposit, I would suggest you get it back & if the right truck is @ any nearby dealers deal directly. The nearest dealer tried the juggling thing & this caused more trouble than it was worth, I didn’t give a deposit & just kept an eye on local inventories. Nissan web indicated exactly what I wanted about 50miles away & the truck was still in transit for delivery. I asked them to give me heads up on & they did & it was done. If they perceive you to be to eager you can still walk if you don’t get the deal you expect. I don’t think a deposit for them bringing the truck from other dealer lots is a good policy, you are not the only one negotiating but dealer to dealer is doing the same.

Well, the $200 dollar deposit was just for getting it done. The truck was supposed to be there the next day as I didn't have my title for my trade with me that day (and now I'm glad I didn't!)

I asked him if he wanted anything, and he said normally they do, but in this case they didn't need anything. I asked if he was sure and he said "well, a couple hundred would be ok". I thought nothing of it expecting to get the truck the next day.

I plan on visiting the dealer this morning. I hope it wasn't their fault and it was this other dealer simply lying so they didn't have to get rid of the truck. Either way, we'll figure something out....

went in a spoke with the dealer. They said that the other dealer must have just flat out lied about it being sold, and I believe them. Should have some info on a confirmed delivery date of the other one I'm supposed to get later this week. My dealer said this will probably impact any further trades they do with this dealer, not only because of this lie, but I guess to get the trade for the truck coming in they really had to jump through a lot of hoops just to get this other one.

I tend to trust the local folks in my smaller town more than the ones in the big cities.. It may sound like I'm being nieve, but anyone in a smaller town probably understands that.

Also asked about a black SE that I saw my local dealer sold.. guess it was to someone up in the twin cities an hour from here, so hopefully I still will have the first one in town. LOL...

In the meantime, I plan on getting a prescription fr Zoloft or something to make the time go faster...

bvstone1: Forget the Zoloft, just go get a case of Crown Royal.....it is more enjoyable and doesn't carry the stigma of psych-disorder that the script carries. :)

It's too bad that your local dealer cannot still work out a trade with the other dealer that has the exact truck that you want. Maybe that truck was sold and that deal fell through and the other dealer was telling the truth.

I just don't like the idea of you having to wait additional time when you could be driving your truck.

Trust me, I dont want to wait either, but, it WILL be worth the wait.

I'm not going to concern myself with the actual reasons, who lied, etc. I can get past that. And I know the first time I stomp the throttle I'll forget all about it.

As for the Crown Royal suggestion, it's good, but I'm a scotch man.. so I'll be having some Glenmorangie (sp?) or my favorite drink these days, a Rob Roy (with olives, not cherries). Man dats good sippin! Or I could spend all the dough for the truck on Caversier(sp?)... LOL!!! Good stuff!
