Shifting from park to reverse I, majority of the time, get a big thud. and the gear shifter is somewhat more difficult to move. Not every time. But sometimes. Do not have this issue after the first gear shift. Usually the first gear shift after starting. afer that If i stop or have to reverse its fine. smooth. no extra noise. But that first gear shift to reverse out of a spot or wherever, always a big thud of the transmission.

I had a similar issue on my 2004 T. I discovered that the Center carrier bearing mount was pretty wasted allowing for up and down movement. Take a look at that. I ended up having to fix both leaking axle seals and the center carrier bearing. truck is as tight as new now. Ive got a touch over 150k miles know.
