That is crazy low, I average around 12 mpg and mine is lifted. I'd take it in to get looked at.
I know it sounds like lip service but there is a learning curve with each thing you do to this vehicle, including new vehicle break in. The computer comes programmed but does "learn" as you drive.I know I sound like a broken record because I have posted on here several times on different threads...................
Brand new 2011 Pro4-X with less than 2500 miles on it..........last tank - 8.86 mpg. Dealer keeps telling me there is a break in period. And, no, I was not heavy footed.
Oh, I can believe that. I was just hoping it wouldn't take so damn long.I know it sounds like lip service but there is a learning curve with each thing you do to this vehicle, including new vehicle break in. The computer comes programmed but does "learn" as you drive.
It's probably your fuel gauge. I had a 2004 that only went 200 miles and then showed empty. It would only hold about 15 gallons of gas on a fill up even though it was supposed to have a 28 gallon tank. At the time I didn't worry about it because I only used 1 tank a week driving to work. Now if I only got 200 miles on a tank, I'd be filling up 3 times a week. How many gallons does it hold when you fill it? Anything less than 20 and your gas gauge is not correct. There's threads on the gauge. If you are only getting 200 miles out of a 28 gallon tank, I'd be suspicious and get it checked. Do you smell gas?I'm new to this site and new to Nissan so just getting to know the 2004 Titan I bought used about 4 months ago. It's a 2004 Titan Crew Cab w/ 5.6 Endurance, 4x4, Some kind of custom Dual exhaust (sounds great) and love the truck so far. Extremely strong and responsive. Problem is I sold my prior F250 and had been looking at Titans for better mileage than the 10+- City I was getting w/ V10 Gas Burner. Anyway, there must be a secret that nobody had shared w/ me about the Titan. I have had trucks w/ low gas mileage for many yrs for my business so I expected at least 17mpg max. Is there something I should Know about this or is thgere a hole in my tank. Not sure what size the tank is, but I have been averaging around 163 miles+- on a full tank to Empty. I keep hearing 14+-mpg in various forums in this site, but is it normal to expect 6-9mpg without pulling a load?? Changed out plugs and tuned up already. Help if you have any suggestions...
Thanks
Seriously? 8 mpg? My 2010 got 13 mpg when I first got it. I'm up to 25,000 miles and 14 mpg. So you can only look to get 9 or 10 in the future? That would suck.I know I sound like a broken record because I have posted on here several times on different threads...................

If your question was directed at me, I always reset the trip odometer to ZERO when I fill my tank. Then I take my mileage divided by the gallons input at my next fill up. Seems pretty logical to me but if I am doing something wrong let me know!i'm just curious, how do you compute it?
