My first oil change is coming soon in the T. it has 64k miles and i dont know if it has conventional or synthetic in it. Im worried about using synthetic incase it is the first time. With this high of mileage it may break down conventional oil(if thats what is in there) and creat leeks soon, but i heard its also bad to use synthetic, the switch over to conventional.

So when i drain the oil is there a way to tell what type of oil has been used?

No unless black stone labs can tell you.

You can switch regardless. That was word to the wise from the non-knowing 20 years ago. Switch and give your Titan the life blood it deserves.

Switch and see if you get any blow-by. If you do, try a partial synthetic. There shouldn't be any leaking issues, though.
