Was looking at the under side of my brothers Titan and I saw this (see att pic) Is it normal?


He told me he cannot turn of 4wd unless he guns the truck...

Looks like the spindle is not very square to the pumpkin.... anyone check the oil level cause I'm betting it is pretty dry inside there

I live in the northeast. That looks like it was submerged at a saltwater boat ramp. I have only seen exhaust flanges look that deteriorated.

can`t say, is it sloppy loose, binding U joint? did he check the level of oil in the case? is there evidence of a leak?

I bet that funk is the only thing holding that together. Funny my 05 lives in the salt belt and it doesn't look like that.

It's a dust shield....LOL. Not sure why it's like that though.
Check the fluid level and carry on.

shield could have been hit, who knows..., doesn`t appear to have oil leaking from the pinion seal, so I`ll agree to check the level and gears if you pull the cover, refill and go...
