Okay guys and gals, I'm getting ready to do the catback portion on my 05, at this time I'm not doing the headers, (YET) because $, but my truck has decided to do almost a full exhaust self delete, (gotta love Nebraska salt mixed with a crappy aftermarket exhaust, which wasn't done by me) anyways I'm looking for any tips/tricks/advice from experience with the installation will be appreciated, and yes I do have extra cans of PB Blaster.

sawzall with a metal blade. Just cut at the front of the exhaust (2 bolts), after the 2nd set of catalytic convertor. You can tell by putting the new exhaust together next to the truck.

FYI - it will have a drone at ~2k rpms

Even with the OEM manifolds?

Other than the the inlet and outlet on the muffler being bent (I assume because of shipping) and having to pound the exhaust together, it went well. The existing exhaust that was installed by a pervious owner was so unbearably loud and droned like crazy thanks to a cheap Flowmaster. There is now a 100% improvement in sound and volume. I am catching a hint of drone because I haven't ordered the UQR yet but worlds better! I am catching a little bit of CIS and I don't know if its a tick from the manifolds or what, so that's something I'll need to figure out...

Thank you so much for the help and advice,

And thank you, Night Owl and your amazing team for selling an amazing product!

Cutting the tailpipe off by ~12" will eliminate the drone. There's no need to buy a resonator. My 05 is 17 years old now runniing a JBA catback, and the drone is still minimal after cutting the tailpipe off.
