I purchased some short JDA headers and am getting them installed today. But the shop installing them says if they install them they will not be able to put the Cadillac convetor back and my check engine light will stay lit. Which means I won't be able to pass my Texas vehicle inspection. What have you who have headers done to work around this or is there no work around this?

You need to have the cats welded directly to the shorties. And preferably some new high flow cats.

Robstrevor has the right of it but, also I'd recommend talking to Jeff at cajun! They're the local wizards when it comes to this kind of thing.

if you add headers you should buy UpRev to tune. They can turn off those lights if needed to pass inspection. Jeff at Cajun like others have mentioned will hook you up with the high flow cats if needed. Keep us posted with progress and good luck.

Send the shorties back and go with longtubes and catted bpipes with Uprev. Cajun stage 1 is a much more reliable option.
