So I had JBA headers installed and the secondary cats removed. I had a borla muffler but apparently its not going to work for some reason, dont know why but. I need a new muffler.

I liked the borla because straight through design eliminated the card in spoke or greatly reduced it.

Shop wants to sell me a 22" "wide open" magnaflow for $220 installed. Has a generic "Jones" wide open same design same everything as the magnaflow just no brand installed $175

He says 22" because it's so loud that will quiet it down but still retain performance.

What do you recommend a 18" or 22"

Stick with a single in single out borla or switch up to magnaflow possibly a generic

My thoughts exactly.

Exhaust parts are more or less universal. There should be no "compatibility" issues, unless the diameter of your piping is just completely off. Even then, most shops can make just about anything work if the bend their own metal.

I have headers myself, with resonated catless bpipes, to a dual 2.5" in/3" out y pipe, with a 3" borla muffler, so it's definitely not impossible.

i dont remember the model number but it was a proxs borla with 1 in 2 out or 2 in 1 out either way they told me i had ordered the wrong muffler a while ago. I asked if there was any way they could make that one work and they capped off one side and bam installed the muffler.

My exhaust was apparently clogged to sh^t with sh%t which is how all of this came about.......

either bad welds on the cap or the muffler filled with sh$t as well, not sure why i need a new muffler wasn't planning on getting one and one is surely not in the budget atm.

truck sat for 1 year
fixed
ran rough
poured entire can of seafoam into the intake line thing in engine
blew so much white smoke.
created a misfire
complete loss of power wont go over 20mph floored
dealership says primary cats so i order jba headers
tell them remove the secondary cats to find they are clogged up as well

Go to another shop! Borla makes a dual inlet single outlet (ProXS) or a 40944 single in/out 3”. Magnaflow mufflers are packed with fiberglass and Borlas are packed with stainless steel fibers. The Maggy will not last no where near as long as a Borla. That price for a Maggy is high also IMO.

Dont forget to Uprev tune if you haven’t. The truck wil not be right until you do. Baby it!

i will be picking her up in about a hour. im gonna see if he can fix the hole before the muffler and ill order a borla in a little bit as i have to get uprev asap.

yes it was the borla 40944 i believe..the numbers sound familiar and was 2.5 dual/single so should be that.

I think i am going to go with 40944

if i go with 2.5" i can use the factory tail piping and put on a tip where as if i went with 3 or 3.5 whatever it is i would need a new tail pipe?

can i order a single in and single out borla and calll it a day?

i know im going borla just not sure which one exactly
