I just got a new 08' and wow what a truck!! It only has 75 miles on it but I figured why wait to start working on it (my motto is " If it aint broke make it go faster") I was looking at the exhaust and it is dual all the way to the muffler and then single out. I'm looking for something that will help performance wise but not drive me nuts on the 200 mile trips. And does anyone know if the 2 degree timing change should be done on the 08'?

On the $cheap$, the Magnaflow muffler swap nets some nice gains, adds a little growl, but not a lot of drone. A CAI will open it up as well but they are "WHOOSHY" on WOT. The 2° advance is more of a throttle response thing than anything you can dyno, but it sure makes the truck feel quicker! Some already say the throttle on this truck is a bit touchy, but I like it even more now with the 2°!!!

Welcome to the site, and congrats on your new truck! Keep us informed of your mods and don't be afraid to ask. We know EVERYTHING on this site..... Just ask us. :D

i dont like the exhaust sound. i like it as quiet as it can be. i went straight for the stillen supercharger. it makes way more power than all of those other mods. i know its costly but so is all the other mods when u add them up.

Yeah, but for $7000, you can put a LOT of other mods on there! But the S/C is definitely the biggest ticket, most HP gain option we have right now. Go big or go home, huh, als?

very true. however if you factor in the retail cost of exhaust systems, headers, intakes, chips or comp mods and all the labor based on the fact that you dont know how to install these products, it adds up almost just as quick.

When i went to but my 08, I picked a base C/C at first. It had the tow pak with the higher gear ratio. The truck i bought is a SE w/o the tow, so it felt a bit slower...dealer did the 2 degrees and viola! the pep is back. Exhaust get louder after the 1st 600 miles...not cat back louder, just a bit more growl.

if your truly serious about wanting your 08 fast just follow the leader and copy my mods.. they all still work with 08's except the jim wolf camshafts and guess what you don't need a stillen s/c to be fast

If I were serious about getting a fast p/u, instead of the Titan, a Dodge Ram SRT c/c would be parked in my drive...I went for more practicality.

you are right. you dont need a s/c to be fast. you dont need anything to be fast. the 08 is plenty powerfull enough. im sure you did all the mods yourself and know your truck in and out. however if some average joe wanted what you have, the parts at retail and labor for all you did would cost way more and take much longer to do than my mods. i only have one mod and its a supercharger. i didnt know it wont work for an 08. however if it would, i think the fun factor of feeling the power when it hits and the sound makes it worth every penny
