I have seen the video of the new Silverado, F-150 and the Tundra in the "frame stiffness" tests that they run on the washboard road. The test shows how much the frame flexes under the bed and how much the bed shakes at ~40 mph or so. My question to you fellas is, how much does the Titan frame flex under these types of situations? I have driven over some pretty rough roads (with the stock, non-offroad suspension) and it beats the hell outta me. But, I'm curious to see how much my bed is shaking around back there. For fear that I'm going to run off the narrow roads and crash, I don't turn around to take a look at what is happening back there. I just though some of you might have video, or real world experience with this situation...

Yeah, many of us wondered how the Titan would fare in that test. The fully boxed frame would sure help. Ford's new "shocks outside the frame" seem to provide considerably more dampening than their old design. I would think our trucks are between the Ford and the Chebbie. I don't feel the tail end jumping all around like that Chebbie was when I go over RR tracks or washboard roads. We certainly don't rack as much as that Turdra, though! That looked like it was gonna be ejected from the planet!

I know, that thing was going crazy back there:jester: Granted, the new Tundra is a very good truck, they're going to have to make some major improvements on the stiffness of their frames.

C'mon fellas, I know I'm not the only one who has wondered how the Titan's frame would compare to the competition. Some of you out there have to have real world experience taking your vehicles off road at high(er) speeds. I just need to see how the Titan compares to the competition. I hope it's better than the new Tundra...

Well, for some real world experience, I live on a dirt road that has about a hundre ft. washboard section( damn sub-division). I try to keep it around 10-15 mph and I would glimps in the mirror and see the bed dancing a bit. I haven't seen the commercials so I can't really compare what i experience.

I'm going to say our trucks hold up well in a test like that, otherwise you would have seen a Titan in there flexing away...I've seen several pics here at TT showing guys with their trucks at some weird angles and in just about every case the frame seems to be very rigid.

Here is the video you are referencing:

I find it interesting that the Titan wasn't shown in their test. Knowing how Ford does their comparisons, like on the "Tough on Trucks" DVD, I would gather that the Titan probably did pretty well against the Ford, making the Titan a formidable competitor. And Ford wouldn't want their sales staff to know that.
