Keeping the stock stereo?

I know this questions has probably been answered on here some where, but is it possible to keep the factory head unit and install new subs and amps? I'm pretty savy in hooking up sound systems, but they have always been on after-market head units. I have a 04 LE with the Rockford Fosgate sound system. If I can just figure out how to run RCA cables from the amp to the stock stereo, I should be in good shape. I guess I will also need to run the remote wire. Anybody know of a product that can do this???

Cheers.

i have also done it with two adjustable LOCs
Sweet, thanks. The LOC's look like they are more up my alley. Plus it looks like all the wiring kit I would need. I just plan on running maybe a 1000W amp with a 10" or 12" sub. I guess there is an adapter in there that fits into the back of my stock head unit and then allows me to run RCA cables and a remote from it? I guess the amp would work on all outs (CD, AUX, FM, etc...)? I am probably going to install a toggle switch on the remote wire so I can turn the bass of when necessary.

Again thanks for the help.
