When I bought my Titan it was only 9 months old, used as a rental. Anyway, from day 1, the remotes would not work. The Ford dealer that sold me the truck tried to reprogram it, but couldn't. I changed the batteries in my remotes, that didn't help. I went online and printed out the instructions for reprogramming, and it wouldn't go into program mode. I've tried multiple times, but the lights don't flash, the horn doesn't honk, whatever. Does anyone know how to fix this? I would take it to the dealer, but they want to keep the truck for a day or more, and I have to drive it to work. I know it's a minor issue, and life will go on, but once in a while it would be nice not having to stick the key in the door every time I go to drive it.

Programming the remotes takes 10 minutes max-barring some sort of hardware problem.

Can I ask if indeed the remotes are for a Titan?
Or if you have an SE or LE?

I'm 90% sure these are the factory remotes. And the truck is a 2007 CC 4x4 XE package. I've had 3 or 4 other people try programming them as well with negative results. One of the technicians was a prior Nissan grunt, but he couldn't tell me a possible cause to the problem. It just won't enter programming mode.

I also bought mine as a rental. I just bought a keyless entry remote off ebay and received it today. I was all excited to get it programmed, but I'm having the same problems--can't even get it into proramming mode--no flashing lights. I have an XE also, but read on some earlier threads that it shouldn't matter. Also read on another thread that even though it is a new remote it might have been sitting around for awhile and the battery might be dead/dying. Will go get new battery and try again. Also read in another place that some reported having to do the ignition part over 20 times. If you find another method that works, let know!

do you have a key hole on passenger side door? This will let you know if your truck has the keyless option. I may be wrong with this but from what ive read here if you have a key hole youre truck didnt come with keyless entry. No key hole, keyless entry.

1st post - sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. I just got an 04 and the single remote they gave me was in crap condition, so I bought a new one. When I went looking for programming instructions, I found a few variations. The one that worked for me was to:

Get in the truck with the doors closed.
Lock the doors with the power lock switch.
Insert and remove the key into ignition repeatedly (6 times). Hazards should flash.
Re-insert key and switch to Acc (do not crank)
Press the Lock button on the first remote. Hazards should flash.
(optionally, repeat these steps for multiples...)
Use power lock switch to unlock and then lock all doors.
Press the Lock button on additional remote. Hazards should flash.
(when finished adding remotes...)
Turn the key off, unlock the door, get out and test.

Again, i'm sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, but this was the set of instructions that worked for me (and two others failed).

For what it's worth, I got the remote from MyKeyless on ebay, and have had no trouble w/the buying process or the quality of the remote itself.

JP,
Thanks for the reply, but I was actually talking about the very same thing you just mentioned. When I stick the key in and out, it doesn't work. I've tried it a hundred times. This is where my problem lies. I know the remotes work, the receiver in the truck doesn't seem to work.

And yes, I have a key hole on the passenger side. But you know what? The dealer sold me a truck with keyless entry, and if that's not what I got, then they'll have a lawsuit on their hands. Or at the very least, a gently used 2007 CC Titan sitting on their lot.

Sorry, friend - it does sound like you got a truck without keyless entry. I'm guessing it was an oversight on their part, but that doesn't change the fact that you paid for something you didn't receive. Best of luck getting that sorted.

I just bought a 05 Titan with 20,000 miles on her one week ago,I am having a issue also.
Mine work!!!! SOMETIMES.
They seem to work a couple of times just when I get done driving the truck.
Then a little later they won't. I put new batterys in the remotes and reprogrammed them,
Sometimes they work. Sometimes they don't!! I thought I saw a TSB on that.
Anyone else with this problem?? I did notice if have the keys in the ingnition they work every time.

Worked for me on my '06 CC just last night. Thank you!

This works to every detail...but only on one of my remotes, which was the remote I programmed second in the process. So I went through it again and swapped the remotes and the same remote still did not work but the other did. But whatever, I'm satisfied for the time being and will try it again later. Thanks alot

The number of remotes wouldn't matter, the new remote would take the program and one of the old ones would drop out. Anyway, I asked the dealership to turn on the keyless entry function in my BCM, but they told me it wasn't showing up as an option on their scantool.

I just bought an 07 Titan LE from my company and it has a keyed driver door and it came with 2 keyless remotes that work. I can't imagine a car manufacturer not making a car with not even one keyed door to get in if the remotes die on you....
