I have an 06 2wd with 223000 mile. I have had a Truetrac in it since 20k. I have a knocking sound that yo can feel in your feet when you let off the gas. The drive shaft carrier barring was bad and I replaced that but it wasn't the issue. The U joint appear good so I'm thinking it may be coming from the diff but not sure yet.

Before I pull off the cover is there anything else to check?

With truck rear end in the air and drive shaft off the tranny side only....can you spin the diff and feel in your hands the pinion and see if you feel the nock....

have someone spin a wheel to help you get it moving and with the drive shaft in your hands then have them STOP the wheel and see if you feel it....?

Hey Mike! Been quite a while since i've talked to ya... Hope you & you're family are doing well!

Sorry to hear about your TT. I remember a few years ago there was a couple of TruTrac owners on here that were experiencing the same issue w/ theirs.

TruTrac has been 1 of the Best Mods that i have ever done to my T! I drain mine, pull the cover & check all the bolts about once a year just for peace of mind.

SO glad that you were able to diagnose & catch them before they backed out all the way! That could have been a disaster!!!
