I'm looking to buy a used '05 or '06 Titan this spring and want to know of any issues anyone might know of with titans that are higher up in miles, such 75k+???? Any recommended info would be great, thanks

Cracked exhaust manifolds. Just bought an 05 with about 50k and both manifolds were cracked. They were replaced under warranty though. I also found out the gas gauge doesn't read correctly the hard way........ran out of gas with the gauge reading a quarter. I guess that is a sending unit issue, and not covered after the bumper to bumper is up.

Check for leaking rear axle seals (oil on brakes or pooling on wheel). Then, if a 4x4, check to see that 4 wheel drive actually works. There have been many issues with the front axles popping out/coming loose due to a broken c-clip. I would suggest getting under the vehicle and see if either of the front drive shafts are wobbly. If either are and the truck is out of warranty, there's another $1000+ to fix it.

My Titan is at 98k miles. Here are the issues I've had:

Cracked Radiator at 78k
Cracked manifolds at 85k
Leaky transmission hose at 60k
Various squeaks and rattles come and go, depending on the temperature.

I have an '05 and I had the following issues between 61k (just after warranty) and 75k or so:

Cracked radiatior
Leaking coolant lines
Cracked manifolds
Leaking rear axle seal

Early on, front brake rotors warped and were replaced under warranty. Without looking back, I estimate I'm out about $1,700 for the repairs above. Now, at 121k, it looks like my front differential went out; I've hardly ever used the damn 4WD and the vast majority of the miles on this truck came from daily highway commuting. If I had it to do all over again, I'd be looking at Toyota, which appears to hold itself accountable for deficiencies in their product instead of licking their chops at the thought of ancillary income from repairs.

I suggest looking at the Technical Service Bulletins and Recalls.

Known issues could include:
Rear Axle Seal leaking
Rear Differential failure (most common on '04-'05 models)
Brake judder (most common on '04-'05 models)
Radio fade in Head Unit
IPDM Relay failure
