Lacking oil pressure in the morning

Hi,
I have a 2005 Titan Se with 33,000 miles on it and it has had a problem since new. Approximately 50% of the time when the truck is started after sitting over night, the engine knocks. Sometimes it last a couple of seconds and at times it can be much worse. I was just out of town for 4 days and when I started it the chain tensioners had collapsed entirely and the chains rattled for about 45 seconds. It seems as though it has a problem with a pressure relief valve sticking open at times and the oil drains back.
The dealer has heard the problem and even the factory rep suggested changing the weight of the oil. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I am getting ready to get rid of this truck before it comes apart.
Thanks,
Bill

I would suggest and make sure you have a oil filter with a anti drain back valve. You could have a bad oil filter too. You could also change to synthetic motor oil and see if it helps. If your running 5w30 changing the weight of the oil wont help. Good luck and keep us informed.

The oil has been changed at least 15 times, always using a factory filter. The factory rep has heard the noise and suggested different weight oil. This has been tried and the problem remains. I am sure that the motor will show internal damage after all of this time.
