What I got out of the email is that DT is no longer making the oval design because they are trying to make the headers fit both the Titan and QX with the same part. Maybe the holes are elongated so that you can make them fit on both. My problem is there is absolutly no way to know if you have it lined up properly. I have tried re aligning the drivers side about 8 times. My passanger side is fine.

Get your money back and get the stillens if the holes are going to be the same. That's some bs. Or if you want the DT's or cant get your money back then maybe you could somehow stick the gaskets onto the header first ( idk with what) and alighn the ports with the gasket as much as you can then mount them up. not sure if that's the dumbest idea ever or not but its just a thought.

I had the same thought but when I went to do it I ran into two issues.

1. I still couldn't tell if it was lined up even when I had the header out and the gasket on it.

2. The 1st, 3rd and 4th port holes are just too big. I have yet to see the second port leak because its small enough that it works with the gasket.

I wish I could just get a new one that would seal up. I bought these because I had cracked manifolds and they leaked. So the whole reason I bought these was to fix my exhaust leak and I am yet to do that.

This is completely unacceptable! Gotta love "made in the USA" products...

I'd call Nick and Anthony at DT again and explain to them they need to step up, address their obvious poor quality control and take care of you. They've made more than enough money from the Titan community and need to exercise customer service now! Having YOU call repeatedly to follow up and then listen to Nick's lip service and song and dance wouldn't cut it for me. He needs to follow up with you when he's got real answers and 24hrs should more than enough. I'd make them send you a new pair using the correct part # along with a UPS call tag to send the defective ones back.

I'd make sure to post your issue on as many automotive forums as you can and watch their sales go north. Tell them you're going to do it to.

As far as I know their is no difference in port design between the Titan and QX56, so that excuse isn't gonna work. Looks to me like some lazy SOB just didn't do their job and either used the wrong flange or didn't check their tooling to ensure it was calibrated correctly before the CNC started. If the design changed that drastically between the Titan and the QX56, then the Nismo's wouldn't fit the QX and neither would the Stillen's. If he's talking about the 2011 QX56, their one size fits all approach obviously isn't gonna work and they need to have 2 separate part #'s. Either way it's their fault and they need to fix it.

Scratch Doug Thorley off your list boys and girls!!!

I agree with you Gary, if they don't resolve the issue ASAP piss on them! I'll keep mine on obviously but won't get another set if something happened to these. If they fix the issue then all is good:) If not, bye bye DT!!

It would be different if the issue was rust or scratches or something small but we are talking about oval holes and piss poor cylinder openings:(

They keep saying they will replace it but Nick keeps on telling me I should send it back to be fixed. I also never believed he was out of them in the first place. I think they are dragging their feet to be honest. Monday will be 5 weeks since he told me he would get me a new one. I asked him yesterday to give me a date I can expect my replacement and I have not recieved a response.

Who is Nick and what's his title? I'd ask for "Slick Nicks's" supervisor since he's clueless. Are you actually calling DT or a reseller? Post up the phone # and website you're contacting. He really needs to send you a new set to minimize your downtime and inconvenience. Who did you buy them from? You may want to contact them too. Good luck!

I'm really disappointed after seeing the issues surrounding DT's quality control. First it's the thin coating and rusting and now it's the flanges. The common factor is that no one at Doug Thorley seems interested in addressing the problems or believes in customer service. Sad because they've been around a while and seem to be popular. I've installed their headers on a Titan without issues. The design looked good and the quality was fine minus the ugly welds... LOL

You'll be fine! They looked brand new and you got a killer deal! Cosmetic issues are one thing and many folks are willing to accept them. But this is completely ridiculous and just shows DT's quality and design personal and customer service reps need to get in the unemployment line...

OK well it looks like trying to help somebody out backfired. The set of headers Anthony/losemymind recieved was designed to fit the 2012 QX56 but just so happened they fit the Titan as well. The headers are identical except on the Infiniti 400hp version the ports were more round than oval so the flange shape was modified to no block the port on either variation. His headers were not the best I admit so lilke i told him "I will swap them out but it is going to be a bit". He stressed time being an issue so I informed him that the only option then is to fix his. When online "EXPERTS" get involved and tell people what "THEY WOULD DO" it doesnt help the situation any. The next run will more than likely have the standard Titan oval port shape flange so there will not be any worries about this issue again. Also just an FYI these headers are constructed of 304 stainless steel and ceramic coated inside and out where as my closest competitor still uses 409 and only coats the outside as an upgrade. In closing Anthony you will be handled regardless of "if you think I have them in stock or not" as we try and take care of all our customers.

Thanks

I did not say anything negative about you or the headers. I was just talking to people on here who are always helpful. If not for this website I would never have even known DT existed.
I bought the headers from you and they are very nice. I think I got a good deal and they really make a night and day difference on the truck. When this issue came up we agreed on a solution to the problem. When I spoke to you yesterday I didn't really feel comfortable with the "if you don’t want to send it back to get fixed then you can just hang out that’s cool to" comment. I was hoping I would have a timeframe to expect a replacement. My only issue with time has been the time my truck would be out of working order when the header was being repaired. All along I have said I would wait for a new one.

I don’t want anyone on here to get the wrong idea that this is a gang up on the manufacturer thread. Nick has been in contact with me throughout and has not gone back on anything he has said. I also told you I was on here so you knew I wasn't trying to bad mouth you behind your back. Maybe I shouldn’t have said I didn’t believe you but I really didn’t. That being said I understood that you may want to wait to replace mine until you had some more made up. I figured if you only had one or two sets giving me one might not be the best idea in case someone called to order more.
If I upset you in any way I am sorry it was not my intention. If anything I wrote was false or if I made any comment that wrongfully put your company or you in a bad light let me know and I will take it back. I cannot control what everyone on here says.

I'm no expert, but I do see where the elongated holes on the flange plate will not seal the ports. The OEM metal gasket have crush zones at the ports... It seems that the real experts at DT need to do some more R&D.

I love my DT's. But those new flanges suk butt.

Well, now we know headers designed for the 2012 QX56 do not fit the Titan.
