Who has leased their Titan and what kind of deals are going out there?

Here is what I have on order and am looking to lease. Titan CC LE with NAV, DVD, RF and TOW. MSRP is $38,200. I am ordering this under the VPP Program so my cost is $34,115 before tax, license and registration. After all the fee's it comes out to $37,294.95

So, the lease option my dealer gave me is:

36 months, 15,000/year $1146 Due at signing and my payments will be $565-600

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY. NOT A GOOD DEAL> I REPEAT< NOT A GOOD DEAL. For that much, finance the truck.

I'm leasing it too, at $490 (got the truck at invoice) The lease rates are like 3.5 percent. Its only like $1500-2000 grand difference at the end of 3 years to by it out verses buying it and financing it from the get go.

It worked well for me since I go through cars alot, plus... if there are alot of problems with the first titans (which, it doenst look like) then I can get rid of it.

I think you can buy the truck by making about the same monthly payment for 5 years instead of 3. If you are driving the truck 15,000 per year, it will have only 75,000 miles.

If you are driving more than 15,000 miles per year, they will charge you more on the lease return at the end of 36 months.

It is almost always better to lease a new vehicle. I have never "Bought" a new vehicle and I AM DEALER!!! Lease Lease Lease.....

4X4 or 2 wheel drive?

And no, buy payments on 37,000 will not be the same....try closer to $700 at 60 months.

If you're not paying cash for a vehicle, bottom line price makes little difference.

If you pay MSRP and all cash, you'll be way ahead if you lease or finance for the vehicle getting it at invoice.

Just my .02.. I'm a strong beliver in maximum 3 years financing a car.. (although I paid cash for my titan)

leasing I feel is just something to get more money to the dealership... They wouldn't do it if it wasn't advantageous to them.

If the car is for work and it's deductable, then leasing may be worth doing.
Holy Sh^T... $600-$700/month for a Truck payment!!! :flamed: Thats almost half my mortgage payment. Not having a truck payment for 4 years, I almost croaked when my payment came to $390/month.
gsxr1000,

What's the residual after the term? How long is the term for? How many miles do you drive per year? Is your current vehicle in pristine condition?

There is nothing wrong with leasing, however sometimes it's just not the best option. I have leased my past few vehicles but have decided to purchase this time as the interest rates are much better and I plan on using the truck and don't want to have to worry about every little nick and ding while hauling something.

Kind of curious though, why do you have to pay taxes on it? On any lease I've had the taxes were done monthly on the payments so you only paid taxes on the amount you paid, not for the full vehicle.

The deal sounds good, and I think like most people out here have stated, as long as you're happy with your purchase, you got a great deal. And I've yet to read from anyone who hasn't been anything less then thrilled with this new truck.

hi Mike,
Ive leased all my vechicles, including my Titan. Considering the 37k purchase price, 15k miles, and only 36 month term, $600 doesnt sound that bad to me. Yes thats high for a payment, but all things considered it sounds about right. Its impossible to say if its a good deal without looking at the residual and a few other numbers.

Take a look at this web site, very good information on leasing. They give buy vs lease comparisons, lease examples, scam tactics dealers use, etc.

I have never considered paying cash for a new car. I buy 20-50K classics with cash...since they do not depreciate. But the thought of spending 35K cash money on something that sinks in value just does not make sense to me. I practice this: "Lease depreciating assets" "Buy appreciating assets" I am not saying this is the "Only" way.....Leasing Nissans in particular is very advantageous.

I leased the last Nissan i had and i ended up keeping it so it cost me more money in the long run. I financed my Titan because i know i will have this truck for a very long time. Why would i want anything else?
The Titan is a 4x2. The residaul value will be about $17,000 after 3 years. I have leased all my vehicles because I like to have a new vehicle every 3 years or so.

$600 a month isnt bad considering what I am getting w/ the VPP price. If I were to purchase the truck I think I'd be looking at $700+ a month.

Everyones input is greatly appreciated.
