I really like the look of a LED light bar under the tailgate, but didn't want to use the 3M stick on type because it would cover the spare tire access hole. So I bought the magnetic version designed for a trailer of the PlasmaGlow Fire & Ice. (I only wanted the brake, turn signal, & back up lights so I didn't hook up the tail lights).

The bars are only 24" long so they don't cover the entire area under the tailgate, but the magnets hold really well and I can move them if I need to get to the spare. I did have to move one of the magnets on the left side, but they screw on and I just drilled a new hole and moved it so it would clear the plastic flange around the spare access hole.

Won't improve MPGs or HP, but might help keep me from being rear-ended. LoL

Nice! I actually like the looks of that better than a solid strip. Where'd you pick those up, and how much were they?

I got them from Stylintrucks.com for about $115 + shipping.

BTW - - if you decide to install them be sure you get 'em low enough that the tailgate edge doesn't crush them when fully lowered - - install instructions are for trailers so they don't mention the need to clear the tailgate edge - - not hard just wasn't expecting the positioning to be a requirement I was lucky I decide to go slow and was checking clearance carefully - - could have just as easily crushed 'em. ;- )

Hey, that looks really great, much better than the solid bars!!

Does the "ICE" help at all or is it mostly for show? No sense spending money on something if it doesn't work....
I honestly haven't had it out at night yet to tell for sure, but I'm guessing the "ICE" is mostly for show. I'm working late tomorrow and will be able to let you know for sure later.

It's just like your set up was - - 4 pin plug in with a splitter (in this case they actually give you two splitters), except for the reverse wire. The one difference is that the wiring is extra long since it's designed for a trailer set up. I debated about cutting it and splicing, but decided to just wrap the extra wire up, cover with some loom, and wire tie it up behind the bumper.

I got the 60" fire & ice LED Bar, and I trimmed it for the spare tire hole. But I did not notice that it cracked later on and filled with water:crying:. This looks like a way better set up.:)
