I had a set of red bulbs and white ones (this was on a different car, not my titan) and got the exact opposite effect. they looked like these...Red LEDs through a red lens, amber LEDs through an amber lens.
Simple reason being that LEDs emit their light in a FAR narrower range on the spectrum, unlike incandescent bulbs which scatter light throughout the spectrum. Therefore a white LED will actually lose way more of it's visibility trying to pass through a lens of a different color. A white LED is not emitting much light in the red end spectrum in the first place, so there's very little light left after passing through a red lens.
Bright as hell... you woudnt happen to have any pics of just the bulbs would you?my tails are pretty much painted colormatched black to my truck...i have been followed by numerous cops troopers you name it and have never had a problem with my light output. i have armaden white led bulbs in the brake turns and reverse in the housing and i think they do a fine job with light output. my tails were sprayed by autolightsunlimited.com its not vht night shade. i have been next to my buddies titan that had 3-4 coats of vht on his mine are 10 times blacker and are 10 times brighter from behind. he has leds in his as well but gets pulled over all the time...just food for thought
You got his email? I need to order led brake lights an turn signals. My tint is pretty dark.Just ordered my exterior LED's for all around from Armaden. Let me say first his customer service is second to none. He quoted me pricing to replace all my exterior bulbs with LED's and after I paid he realized one of his employees forgot to key a previous order correctly and he is currently out of brake lights, he notified me via email and before I even saw the message had credited me back a substantial portion of the order cost, he went way above and beyond what a business would do. Once I receive I will post pics of before and after but so far I dont know if I will order lights from anywhere but him.
