How many guys have done this? I was debating about getting red ones or white ones. I know factory bulbs are white but i wasn't sure if a white or red LED would be brighter?

Never done it, but typically, white LEDs are generally easier to find with a higher mcd (brightness) than red LEDs. There are still superbright or ultrabright red LEDs, but the white ones usually have a higher mcd.

For the tails, even though they may not be as bright, I think I'd go for the red. It may provide more "red" color to your tinted tail. Just my 2¢

Red LEDs through a red lens, amber LEDs through an amber lens.

Simple reason being that LEDs emit their light in a FAR narrower range on the spectrum, unlike incandescent bulbs which scatter light throughout the spectrum. Therefore a white LED will actually lose way more of it's visibility trying to pass through a lens of a different color. A white LED is not emitting much light in the red end spectrum in the first place, so there's very little light left after passing through a red lens.

I had a set of red bulbs and white ones (this was on a different car, not my titan) and got the exact opposite effect. they looked like these...

the white bulbs were far brighter shining through the red lens than the red bulbs were.

im not saying your science is wrong but the white bulbs emit more light than the red ones it seems which probably cancels out all that light spectrum gibberish you explained...

the housings are made to reflect the light into a certain color so I was thinking the white's would be brighter on their own, and therefor making the reflectiveness brighter as well. But I also thought that maybe the red LED would make the reverse lights more "red" in essence making them brighter. I may have to try one of each and post up the results.

I bought the Red plug n play LED lights from Armaden through this site and am pretty happy with them, I have about 4 coats of vht on my lights and felt that the factory lights weren't putting out enough to be seen safely during the day time, put these LED ones in and its amazing how good you can see them no problem once they light up.

Just ordered my exterior LED's for all around from Armaden. Let me say first his customer service is second to none. He quoted me pricing to replace all my exterior bulbs with LED's and after I paid he realized one of his employees forgot to key a previous order correctly and he is currently out of brake lights, he notified me via email and before I even saw the message had credited me back a substantial portion of the order cost, he went way above and beyond what a business would do. Once I receive I will post pics of before and after but so far I dont know if I will order lights from anywhere but him.

LED bulbs drastically improve the visibility of your tail lights. This is a must have if you have black or smoked tail lights. Generally using white LEDs under a red lens is fine. At LED Concepts we generally only switch white and amber bulbs. Red would really only need to be used on a set of aftermarket clear tail lights. In that case they would be ordered for the customer. We do have some really nice High Powered 3157 bulbs for the Titan. If anyone needs any brake, running, or reverse lights we will be happy to give you a great product with a great price!

Got the rear turn signals and reverse bulbs in and they are great. Definitely brighter and more crisp in my tinted/blacked out tails. Hopefully he gets the brake lights in soon. Really want to finish the rear of the truck so everything matches. Am going to put the front turn signals in sometime soon, just a little more difficult since you have to remove the grille and some on the headlight bolts. Again Armaden's LED's are very nice quality and look good.
