Nissan don't care for the titan, those light up enables are cool,not sure How they clip in to the grill?

 

You have to take the grill off.
Very time consuming.
Poor design. My opinion only.
I am not an engineer. Seems like it should just clip in.
But if they don't know how to apply chrome, can you expect a clip in grill emblem?

 

I wish they made a lava orange one for the. pro4x…

 

So I got a call from Nissan after calling and getting a case #. She said the same thing that they don't make it anymore. I asked her how Nissan is going to make me whole since their warranty clearly states that they will replace or repair any defective part. I suggested that the dealer paint the emblem. She suggested I get an after market part. I said no problem just pay for it and install it. She will call me back on Thursday.

 

 

SO Nissan said its the dealers problem. I told them that THEIR warranty clearly states that they will repair or replace any defective parts. They agree its defective but don't have that part anymore. So I sad they Nissan needs to repair it. They said the dealer does that. So I will wait and see.

 

I took my 2021 P/R in for its first oil change. THe front Nissan lighted grill emblem had the chrome chipping off and it needed to be replaced. They tried to order one but was told that Nissan disconinued the part and only have a non lighted one. I told them not to replace it. I checked and it really is discontinued.

WTH? They are still making the dam thing but I can't get a replacement part

I’m having the same problem with my 2021 titan. I just keep getting the runaround. I’m finding that Nissan dealers are not very helpful regardless of which one I go to. I love my truck, but not enough to buy another Nissan and put myself through this nonsense again.

 

Yes, same issue. I am going to try to take it out, refinish it and put it back on. With minimum 4 coats of clearcoat.
This is my second Titan. I had a 2007 Titan LE that my son-in-law has since I got the 2021. Good luck. Maybe a Tundra next go round.

 

Chrome is gross anyway. Take it all off and put a quality paint / plastidip.

But I'm not surprised. Nissan discontinued the Xterra Rear M226 P4x axle in 2015 the last year they were making the Xterra. at this point it's RIP pretty much to anyone who needs a replacement unless you can weld / have access to someone who can / wanna pay someone to weld for you.. Rare to find. What a pain trying to swap to the rear E-locker. thanks Fleabay. at least I can still get axle shafts and stuff if needed from the frontier parts catalog

 

At dealer now for the very same issue and was told it was discontinued as well. They should do the right thing and have it re-finished. Come on Nissan do the right thing!

 

I agree and have asked that question myself.
I can only guess they don't want repeat buyers.
If you don't honor one part under warranty how can I believe you'll honor any?

 

I have a 21 P/R with the lighted emblem and it the chrome (or whatever that is) is chipping off too. I haven't even mentioned it to the dealer and probably won't. It's one of those worries in life I don't have time to worry about.

 

Could spray some clear on it to stop it from peeling more and a little more protection.

 

Clear coat might slow down the process. That doesn't change the fact that Nissan has totally left customers with a defective part that cannot be replaced.

 

Almost like they knew it was a problem part. If you can't get the illuminated emblem, can it be replaced with the standard, boring emblem? It just seems at some point it would deteriorate to the point of just needing to be replaced.

 

I don't think that is an option if you have the distance control warningbon your cruise control. It uses radar which is blocked by a standard grill emblem. Or something of that nature.

 

If the led is still working I would remove all the chrome and fix/paint it myself. Your not going to get a multi million corporation to change anything.They only listen to their boards. Especially now that the Titan has officially been chopped.

 

Their was a person that completely redid his emblem and it turned out freaking awesome! I'll see if I can find the post.

 

I'd like to see it. I have a paint and body guy but I haven't taken my truck to him yey.

Just an FYI. I got mine from here.. Slightly small but not noticeable once installed. I had to move my front camera since they do not have one for the Platinum Reserve edition. But it all worked out. The newer titans with the radar behind the emblem ( adaptive cruise control ) your outta luck

I'm glad it worked out for you. I also wonder if the light up emblem from the Leaf would work as well?
