One of the most common issues we see with the Nissan Titans is the minimal clearance over the coil bucket making just about any sort of lift impossible without coil bucket contact (CBC). This causes a loud clunking noise as well as causing damage to the coil bucket and upper control arms which can lead to catastrophic failure of the upper control arms.

We often see people grind the lip of the coil bucket or upper control arms to gain more clearance and this is definitely a BAD IDEA. Now what your allowing is for the factory upper control arm to further articulate than what they were designed for putting a ton of stress on the ball joint (connecting point of upper control arm to spindle). This often leads to extreme wear on the ball joint and even complete failure which would tear the spindle away from the upper control arm.

We have solved this issue with the extensive design and testing of our two different style upper control arms for the Nissan Titan. Our upper control arms are designed for maximum clearance over the coil bucket to allow you to get the extra lift or down travel with extended length coilovers. Our arms are a complete bolt in product and do not need any modification to the coil bucket to gain the needed clearance.

Here is a list of some of the major benefits:
-Eliminates coil bucket contact
-Corrects alignment when lifting the vehicle
-Allows for additional travel when used with aftermarket coilovers
-Completely rebuildable
-Much stronger than the factory control arms

More info on each can be found below.

Dirt King 2wd/4wd 04-15 Titan Heim UCAs

Link to our website: Nissan Titan heimed Upper Control arms

Overview:
There are multiple issues when lifting your vehicle with stock upper control arms. Both the geometry and strength are compromised due to over articulating the UCA’s. We solved these problems by designing our arms with increased castor and repositioned pivot angles reducing stress on the joints. The increased castor allows for proper alignment and improved handling. We have also replaced the weak factory ball joints with 1” stainless steel uniballs for maximum strength along with increased articulation. For the inner pivots we used heavy duty FK heims for additional adjustability in the arm. To mount the arms to the spindle we include high grade 17-4 stainless steel misalignment spacers and grade 8 hardware. All of the components on our upper control arms are rebuild-able or replaceable to make this product last a lifetime. The arms come preassembled and include detailed instructions for easy installation.

Includes:
• CAD designed upper control arms
• FK 3/4" heims
• FK 1" stainless steel uniballs
• 17-4 stainless steel misalignment spacers
• Grade 8 mounting hardware
• Durable black powder coated finish

Additional Notes:
• Maximum backspacing: 5.25"
• 2WD and 4WD compatible
• Additional adjustability for vehicles with alignment issues
• Designed to clear the coil bucket for maximum lift

Compatibility:
Nissan Titan 2WD/4WD 2004-2015
Nissan Armada 2WD/4WD 2005-2006
Nissan Pathfinder 2WD/4WD 2004

Dirt King 2wd/4wd 04-15 Titan Bushing UCAs

Link to our website: Nissan Titan Bushing Upper Control Arms

Overview:
After seeing the issues with other bushing UCAs we decided to develop a competitively priced and functional UCA. These UCAs feature polyurethane bushings and heavy duty Moog ball joints. For proper fitment our polyurethane bushings are custom machined to clear the rounded corners in the pocket. This will help prevent noise and extend the lifespan of the bushings. The outer bushing sleeves are made from 2.25" .250 wall tubing and gusseted for additional strength. They include zerk fittings allowing you to service them. The Moog ball joints are completely sealed making them ideal for harsh weather conditions. Most importantly our UCAs have increased castor and additional clearance for lifted or extended travel applications. The increased castor is needed to keep the vehicle within alignment specs when raising the ride height. The arms come fully assembled and include detailed instructions making installation quick and easy.

Includes:
• Chromoly upper control arms
• 90 degree zerk fittings
• Custom machined polyurethane bushings
• .250" wall inner bushing sleeves
• Moog upper ball joints

Additional Notes:
Maximum wheel backspacing: 5.25"
2WD and 4WD compatible
Works with factory or aftermarket coilovers
Designed to clear the coil bucket for maximum lift

Comparing the Heimed to the Bushed/BJ setups...

From a "Normal Daily Driver" with a mild spacer or Bilstein lift (2-3") point of view... in upstate NY (read that as lotsa salt...things rust quick...and lotsa gritty dirt roads)

Which one of these two items will provide the longest service life if maintained in a "normal" manner?
(lets say, oiled or greased only when the oil is changed or every other...)

BWV, I went with the DK bushing arms for all the exact reasons you posted above, couldn't be happier.

All beautiful products...

I've done the dirt track crew thing, and understand the benefits of heim joints in a race environ. They are superior in every way on the track for sure.

Wondering about it going the "other way"... How do high quality heim joints hold up when used in the daily driver world?

We use high quality FK bearings for our heim and uniballs in our arms. They are engineered to take serious abuse such as that seen in off roading. They have telfon liners to keep them tight and noise free. For areas where corrosion is a problem you will want to coat them with a dry lubricant to help protect them from the elements.

We created our bushing/ball joint style arms for areas with harsh weather conditions. The arms are completely sealed and have grease fittings at all moving parts to allow them to be easily serviced. They come preinstalled with heavy duty Moog ball joints (most beefy ball joint you can get for the Titan). These arms are also constructed from the same 4130 chromoly tubing as our heim/uniball style arms to give them the strength to hold up to high stress conditions where other control arms would catastrophically fail.
