Took the truck in for the lower control arm recall and was told that i am not effected. Apparently, they are looking for build dates within a specific timeframe. It took about 20 minutes.

Took mine in Wednesday, they said my truck is effected, but they don't have the parts, had to order them. Typical, have a recall and the repair parts aren't available yet.

Got an email from my dealer today letting me know the parts are in. I can't schedule a time to get it done yet, waiting to hear from my lawyer Monday to see if I have to head to Georgia Tuesday.

While I received a recall notice based on my VIN, the service manager told me that my truck was not effected. They look at the build date or some numbers on the actual control arm.

I got a question about build and model dates.......

Sticker says built 05/08 and yet was sold as a 2009 model. Is this correct? Thx for any help with understanding this.

Yeah, I thought it would be after June/July previous year to qualify as next model.
(sorry to hijack thread)

You guys must have a different recall notice than I do.

Mine plainly states "If you know that the lower control links in you vehicle were not repaced between November 23, 2009 and May 14, 2010, no further action is required on your part. If you did have a lower control link replaced (between the same dates) ... you need to have dealer inspect, or replace.

Unless you just bought the truck, you know if you had to have the control arm replaced (accident or what ever). The notice says that only replacement arms are questionable. If you still have the arms the truck was built with you have no problem.

Do you guys have a different reccall notice?
