magnaflow 3 chamber muffler

I'm going to order a muffler for my 07 cc. Magnaflow makes their traditional oval muffler or the new three chamber oval. The tech at magnaflow told me the traditional muffler was the quieter of the two even though it has a straight through design. Has anyone heard the difference between the two. any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
