WOW! I LUV IT!!!
I just got my Magnaflow exhaust cat-back system put onto my Titan, and I just can't get over how good it sounds. I went with the signe side exit because Magnaflow claims some potential issues with putting a dul rear exit system on a Titan equiped with the towing hitch, and as I tow I was not interested in "issues".
The part number is 15848, I have seen these systems for as low as $418.55, which is one hell of a bargin in my book. (http://www.magnaflowplanet.com/product.php?productid=6145)
My system of course cost me $000.00 because it is the newest addition for Project Titan of Nissan Sport Magazine. :bouncy:
Observations-
- the system requires the B-pipe to be cut, I was not able to do this as my garage is now filled with cars in storage and did not feel like doing it in the snow, in the driveway. I was able to convince my local Cole Muffler to help me out, even though their policy is to not install customer provided parts. What helped me out is they advertise Magnaflow systems so they had a high confidence rating with the instalation of these products.
- the sound is a nice deep rumble, clearly a tad louder than stock but not what I would call too loud.
- when you get on the throttle this things gets a good deal louder, but it sounds sooooooooo good.
- at 2,000 rpms in 5th, about 72-73 mph which is my general expressway cruising speed the sound is just a slighlt elevated rumble, I still think the wind noise is louder than the exhaust note.
- at 1,700-1,800 rpms in 5th, about 65 mph the sound seems to be a tad louder, but still if you have the radio on, it is in no way obnoxious.
- initial impression is the reduced back pressure seems to keep the tranny from knocking down to a lower gear under light uphill loads. I have several hills I drive every day, and I hate it when I'm almost to the top and my rpms go from about 1,200 to 1,600 because the silly truck has decided there is too much load for the lower rpms.
I have to say, I could not be happier.
