Everyone I've checked with including my own truck did not come with any "pre-programmed" maintenance reminder system. Every category was empty. Thus because my last few vehicles had it built-in I assumed this did as well. Long story short I ran over the recommended oil change of every 5,000 miles expecting some sort of pop up reminder just like every other new car in existence has these days. So when I brought it into Nissan for service I had to request the service tech do it which is ridiculous. They should at least manually program from dealer upon delivery if it's coming empty from the factory. Anyone else experience this???

My Titan was registered in the dealer's computer system. I have a login on their website. it shows me all the service history, as well as the maintenance schedule.

BUT...

The dealer doesn't know how many miles my truck has on it unless I keep it updated on their website. Its not like chevy, ford, and ram that transmit this data from the truck automatically..

the "nissan connect" interface in the touch screen really doesn't "connect" to anything except bluetooth to your smartphone. I think there is a different version on higher trim levels that might
have a better capability.

5,000 miles??? You're worried about going over 5,000 miles for maintenance? Ha! That's nothing. My Titan routinely goes around 10k on the oil change interval on synthetic oil. My '07 Titan reminds me to change the oil at whatever interval I set, which unfortunately has a maximum of 7,500 miles.

The 2017 Ford Superduty is NOT communicating back to Ford. Mine is updated only if I make the entries on the web site. Ford didn't put the gizmo in the Superduty for communication, even though it can do wireless updates for the onboard O/S.

While I agree that they should have set it from the dealer, I don't think my Maxima's was set. I have become so accustomed to remembering my oil changes and tire rotations that it's habit. 5k rotations, 10k oil. I manually set my tires to 4.5k so by the time I get around to it I'm at 5k miles. Same thing in the Maxima. Do that twice and you're at an oil change.

Nissan Connect is absolute garbage. I used it twice trying to make it work and it's next to worthless.

Agree.

... my dealer actually did call to remind to bring in at 5k though and set the digital reminder too. (it's very simple to set yourself but even easier to look at the mileage :eek_surprise: )
