Hey all. I've been reading discussions on this site for a long time for advice. First post here and I'm hoping for some incite. I have a 2008 crew cab 4wd, 122,000 miles. I've been reading a lot that the manifold leak seems to be common. Well here I am now with this issue. I see a lot of people go with Cajun b pipes, or jba. My buddy (also mechanic, has registered shop. He's good...) says here in new York, we need to have California emissions standards. He says that he has a guy that would be able to weld the crack, and we'd replace gasket. $120 side to weld, plus he's figuring 6 hours labor to get manifold off and back on. And there's the issue that another crack may develop and/or the cat will go. The rest of the exhaust is pretty well rotted and rusted (gotta love N.Y. winters and salt!). Tail pipe actually rotted right off recently, and the muffler has several holes showing. So I'm looking for advice here. Truck is paid off, wife just got a new car, and not looking to get rid of the titan for a couple more years (optimistically 5 years). I'm confused with the emissions s*it in NY, even when my buddy tried explaining it to me. What's my best option here in you guy's opinion. Will the Cajun pipes work in NY? Truck is in pretty good shape, no rush. I do use it as a truck. Have prg mini lift and 33x12.50r20s on it. Thanks

We do not have Cali emissions here.
I have the Cajun stuff and it's a lifetime fix. You also risk warpage if you weld the stock manifolds. You won't regret going with Cajun.

So the Cajun pipes are fine for new York emissions? It won't throw a check engine light?
My stuff is listed below, it's been about 11,000 miles now with zero issues.
What part of Ny are you in?

Outside buffalo in the sticks. I don't see where what you have done is listed. I'm new to this forum posting stuff.
I know all about the sticks down here in Pavilion. My mods are listed in my signature, below every post I make.

Doesn't show a signature for me? So you have the Cajun system? On their website it had a "cracked manifold special" tab. Couple options there, but man, seems expensive. Idk if I wanna drop that kinda money in it. If I do i guess I'm keepin it for a while. Any other options to fix for less $? What's up with this pacesetter manifold for $200?

The pacesetter manifolds will fail again, soon. Don't waste your time. For the price of labor to install these things you don't want to do it twice. The Cajun "fix" is long tube headers to correct the cracking manifold issue, catted B pipes to relocate the O2 sensor to keep the CEL off and let you pass emissions, and Uprev tuning to correct the fuel mapping and make sure the truck is running the way it should as well as keep the new cats intact, and as an added bonus give you an extra 20+ HP to boot.

Give us a call, there's a reason everyone around here recommends Cajun. Cajun Bpipes | shreveport, LA 71129
