Has anyone had any success in matching a factory painted part from one Titan to another Titan and have it match pretty good?

What if your fender got damaged and instead of getting it repainted, you find a fender in the same color off a wrecked Titan in the junkyard. Would the color match be pretty close? Or, is there a lot of factory variation in the OEM colors?

Nothing has happened to my Titan, I'm just wondering if this method would work. It seems every time you get any paint damage, they always want to blend into the next panel to have the color match. Unfortunately, even when they do this, the color winds up not matching anyway especially with a hard to match color like Smoke or silver. At least with a factory painted panel, you can just replace the part that is damaged and not have to go touch the virgin body panel areas that are still pristine.

Any thoughts??

the color is going to be off even on same year model vehicles. a good paint shop will try to match the color to the blend panel before painting but most shops are lazy and just mix the paint and spray it.
