I might be selling my 04. :frown: Look at my sig and you can see what I have installed. My question is, if I do sell, what should I do about the uprev cable?

My impression is; I would call cajun b-pipes and ask. They seem like great guys I see them all over the forum. Even if you didn't buy it there I bet they would give you, your options. Maybe PM them. I'm in the market for uprev and I am thinking I may just buy it from them just from what I hear about the customer service.

If you were a King Cab I'd take those nerf bars off your hands...

You can either include the cable in the sell (private party) or leave the truck tuned then keep and sell the cable (trade in).

yeah, gonna need a replacement. been w/o my Titan for 2 months now. I will fill everyone in on the experience when its fixed. I will not get another Titan. Probably a new (2015) F150 w/ the 5.0. My Titan has been a great truck over the past 12 years minus the problems (exhaust manifolds, rear end x2, exhaust, etc,) but I just cannot continue to put 2K into a 12 year old truck every 18 months.

I would rather put 2k into a truck every 18 months than 8+k every 12 months for the next 6-7 years.

That was my thinking this whole time; I love my truck and have done enough to it to really improve the perform abc of it. Much easier to say and do on a 6-8 year old truck. When it gets to be 12 years old, has 100k on the odometer that reasoning becomes more difficult to justify. Nissan did a great job with their first ever full size truck. If I could do it over again, I would have been better to wait a couple years into production.

No kidding. $2k every 18 months is an average of $111/mo - your new F150 payment is going to be what, $400+/mo without taking into consideration maintenance...

Yeah man! Who the hell would want to drive something brand new, with parking/blind spot sensors, 360 degree cameras, adaptive cruise, bluetooth, no squeaks, starts every time, never drips oil, is quiet, rides smooth, better mileage, and more power? That is just insane!

Except that it's a Ford.....

If you think a new F150 is only going to be 400-500 a month, your kidding yourself, at that payment, it would take 10 years to pay it off. My truck doesn't squeek or rattle, doesn't drip oil, rides nice and smooth, starts every time. I could care less about the camera or the sensors. I've upgraded most parts on the Titan and it's paid for, and I am no where near the price of what a new Ford costs. I'll get a trutac when my rear end goes out, aluminum radiator when that goes, and headers when the mani's crack, she will be good for another 10-15 years, and I will still be under the cost of a new truck, regardless of the brand.

I'd rather have a payment and a warranty.

I get it. My truck has been paid off since late 2005. I don't want to get into payments again. However, I'm in a loaner everytime it breaks down. And the next time it breaks down, and it will, I will be without it again, borrowing a loaner. The truck is the 6million dollar man, new parts all the time. But that that won't stop something from breaking; either new or original.

How many of you would be telling me to keep it if I was talking about getting a new XD? Not many I bet.

Listen, I've almost been on TT since the very beginning, I totally love this community and everyone's thoughts and opinions. That's what makes this site so great. I appreciate everyone's feedback. If I do decide to get another make of truck, I don't expect anyone's approval; seen it many times over the years.

For now, I'm not going anywhere because I still have the Titan. Well, the shop has it :/

Yours is also six years newer...... Don't hate because a guy wants something newer. Have you not ever bought a new vehicle? It seems ridiculous that people give a guy shiiiit because he wants a new truck after 12 years. I personally wouldn't sell mine for a few more years because it's not giving me any problems...... yet. But I will when mine becomes problematic. Also, the $2K every 18 months doesn't include being without a vehicle for weeks while it's getting fixed, and the busted knuckles while wrenching on it all the time. Good for you guys that want to drive the same truck for years and save money. I personally want a truck that is reliable and won't brake down with my wife driving it or spend more time in the shop than on the road. When mine starts getting to that point. Bring on the payments! Just not a Ford....hah!

Johnny I'm with you. I had an 06 titan and loved the truck. The owner before me abused it, but I took good care of it. At about 120k it started to cost some money every few months it was something. It just got to the point of diminishing returns. I can't have a vehicle down with 3 kids and wife and I working. I bought a 15 and have been happy ever since. I wouldn't buy a ford, specifically because my buddy just did and is not happy with his purchase.

Personally, I wont keep a truck more than five years/45k miles. I like having significant equity for a down payment for a new purchase along with having a factory warranty. Not having a monthly payment is indeed nice, but sooner or later you'll have one. I respect and acknowledge that everyone's financial situation is different than others. Enjoy the new truck hunt!

one other thing which will come into play very soon will be when the repairs will start to become a larger and larger percentage of the overall value of the vehicle. It is tough to place a value on a 'paid for' truck but it wouldnt be long and if it were involved in a bad accident, insurance would likely 'total' it.

Again, no plans right this minute to trade but I want to be prepared.

Do you guys think I should take the shell off and sell separately or leave it on? Anyone have any experience either way?
