So I used 2.5 quarts of the stuff in my rear diff. I have a half quart left. Considering it costs 18 bucks a quart... I'd not mind keeping this half quart for next time I change out. However... I have no idea if it'll keep on the shelf that long.

Can I keep it, or is it trash and I'm out the 9 bucks the half quart essentially cost me?

It isn't being exposed to high temps or contamination so it should keep for a VERY long time.

As long as it's kept in a way that moisture can't contaminate it, it should keep for years. Keep it for the next change.

i'll put a baggie and a rubber band around it on top of the cap just to double up on protection. nice to know i can save myself a few bucks for next time!
