I am about to buy the Motofab 3" level for my 2017 1/2 ton. Does anyone have any experience with this kit? My concern is the kit is the same for both the 1st gen and 2nd gen. Does this sound right? Also, I thought anything over 2.5" on the Titan would cause the ball joint geometry to be too steep and cause pre-mature wear.

I called and talked to Motofab today and he verified the kit for both 1st gen and 2nd gen are the same. He also very confidently said while the ball joint geometry is steeper, at 3" it stays within standards and they have never had any cases of premature wear. Thoughts or concerns?

You can use that kit, but you will need upper control arms, anything over 1.5" will cause coil bucket contact, aftermarket UCA's will give you the clearance you need. Also the 2" block on the back will be too big for your stock shocks, they will over extend and potentially blow out. You will need something like a Bilstein 5125 extended length shock

Is there any difference in the suspension between 1st and 2nd Gen? Why would the Motofab guy assure me of no CB contact on the 3"? He guarantees it and is just assuring himself of a returned product. If the suspension is the same does this mean the 3" Rough Country will fit a 2017? Thanks for the insights.

From my understanding, and what I looked at, at the dealership this week the non xd suspension is the same between 1st and 2nd generation.

I just talked to Rough Country and they said the spacers between the gens are the same but the control arms are different and their UCA's will not fit a 2017. I think I will order the 3" kit and find someone that makes UCA's for a 2017.

I'm waiting for someone to come out with a 3" levelling kit or 4" lift kit. Right now all I see is a 2.5 levelling kit from Calmini that comes with UCA $689. I did talk to an Icon rep yesterday and she said they are working on a 3" lift kit for 2017 non XD models. I may just go with the Calmini if nothing comes out in the next month

I bought the 3" motofab kit, cam bolts, and will be picking these SPC UCA's up next week. Nisstec said these will fit the 2017 1/2 ton. They are local to Denver and not too far from my office. Installation is Wednesday night. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Looking forward to seeing this setup, are you going to be changing the rear shocks, everywhere Ive asked the question on this lift kit, it's been recommended to do so

Quick Update: I ordered the UCA's from bilsteinlifts.com as they were $80 bucks cheaper. I put a note in the order that I needed by Wednesday and if not I would need to cancel my order and get them locally. I got a text from them today and they said they would upgrade me to 2day shipping for free to guarantee arrival by Wednesday. That's impressive.

I have the off-road package with Bilsteins and I'm most likely going to use 1" blocks in the back. Unless an issue arises I do not plan on changing the rear shocks.

I should have the finished product tomorrow if all goes as planned. Here is a sneak peak. What I can tell you is the 3" motofab kit has the front end up a solid 3" and with 2" blocks in the back it's dead level per the level I put on the bed rail. I did not order sway bar end links and it needs them so I ordered them tonight. The SPC UCA's went on perfectly, they are very beefy including the adjustable ball joints. I just had back surgery so my mechanic came to my house and installed the whole thing for $300. He said with the new UCA's the geometry looked good and he had no concerns.

Thanks for updating, I'm following and getting ready to do the same setup as you. Look forward to see lots of pics :) Glad it gives you a true level, I will most likely have to pick up Bilstein rear shocks. Can you post the link to the sway bar end links you're going to purchase.

Cheers and hope the back heals fast

That is correct anything over 2" will require UCA's. And anything over 1.5" blocks in the rear will require longer shocks or extended shock mounts. That is why I went with the 2" RC level and 1.5" RC rear block. I didn't want to mess with UCA's otherwise I would have gone with a full coil-over for only a few hundred more.

Rough country clearly hasn't tried the first gen UCA on a second gen. I ran them for a while with no issues. They fit.

It's on, it's sick looking, and I'm thrilled. I'll get pics up soon. First off, I am getting massive rubbing. I've done some shaping of the fender wells with a heat gun. I can see with some discreet trimming behind the fender well and shaping it will no longer be an issue. Question... How does one know if the 2" blocks made the shocks too short? Going over a bump in the road at speed and you get a clunk sensation by chance? I think it's official that 2" blocks need longer shocks as some wise men have already stated. I believe I will be going to 1" blocks.

Regarding rear blocks the higher the block the more compressed the shock so without an extension bracket it will just fail sooner than later and have a rougher ride.
naw other way around brochacho. the taller the block, the farther the axle (bottom shock mount) is from the frame (top shock mount) so the shock is constantly extended. IE if you hit a bump and you need droop travel, the shock is already maxed out. But yeah its still gonna fail and its still gonna ride worse so thats true lol.
