I this from experience? Have you actually done it? I have heard that on some vehicles do not get excessivly loud with the stock muffler removed. However, I did not start up my truck or drive it when I replaced the stock muffler. I would just get the magnaflow and swap mufflers. That is what I did. There are sound clips of all three sizes on here somewhere. I did the 18" and am very happy with it. It was only $60 shipped. Thats less than a tank of gas on these trucks.Overide said:removing your muffler will make your truck too loud. I am not sure what the laws are like where you live, but it is illegal here. I do not suggest it.
The simple fact of him running straight pipes on a F-150 automatically makes you cooler even though his bike is faster. :smokingcoLandShark said:No doubt! I give him crap every day about it.
Just sucks that his bike is faster than mine. CBR 1000RR vs. Gix 600
I took my muffler off and welded a straight pipe with a turndown on and it was pretty loud. It sounded good until I got it up past like 3000 rpm then it sounded horrible. I did feel some low end power loss and lose about .5 mile per gallon though.ipolito said:I was wondering if anybody has tried driving with the muffler removed. And how it performs, sounds and mpg. My friend removed his off his frontier and he got better performance and mpg without much increase in sound. Thanks.
