I was thinking of putting on a flowmaster 50 series SUV muffler. Dual in and dual out with turn downs shortly after. Will i see any horsepower gains or loss in doing so. I have a 2008 4x4. Really dont have the money at the time to do a big change like headers or full change.

Get a magnaflow - I just had mine put on and I was NOT disapointed in the power gains!

You will see a power gain over stock, and over stock only! If you are looking for the most power for your money, Magnaflow. They will outflow ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING. 2 into 1. I know they don't sell a 2 in 1 out, get the 1 in 2 out and reverse it as they are totally reversible.

It's been a while back but I read an article that test the magnaflow mufflers out flowed the flowmaster in a high end power test. Meaning, magnaflow mufflers have supported around 600-800 horsepower vehicles with ease. Just changing out the muffler itself will increase horsepower and adding an intake just makes it even better.

Yep - you can tell when you look at the 2 to 1 Magnaflow - it's a straight through Y pipe design when you run it in reverse. There aren't walls or angles to slow the flow down.
