So whenever I am in traffic or a drive thru I tend to hear a screeching sound coming from my front tires. I also can feel my brakes not as grippy anymore. I definitely know I need new brakes but I was wondering if it could be my rotors. This only happens when I'm in drive and I'm going like 5 mph or at a complete standstill and I apply the brake. It also slightly vibrates. Thanks for taking the time to read this and I would appreciate your feedback.

You probably are getting vibration from your pads causing the squealing. Likely due to not enough brake grease on the backs of the pads but maybe due to pad wear. Definitely bears inspection to confirm.

As for rotors versus pads, rotors will cause pulsation if warped, but won't generally cause squealing. You can have them turned if they're thick enough, or just replace them. I'm about to replace mine because they're too thin to turn, but since I have 120k on them, I won't complain.
