My Post was deleted, Why?

Earlier I posted a website where you could download free service manuals for Nissan Titans (all years) and they deleted my post. Is there somthing against posting websites?

It is a copyright violation and is against site rules. There may even be a special sticky on that exact subject. Avoid getting the "Ban" :(...:)
Free service manuals = No, no.:paranoid:
It's not like it's my website, anyone could find it. Just like I did. I didn't know that there is no posting websites. I am going to read the sites titantalk rules.
dont fight the man
its not a good outcome..
just let it be
trust me
Arguing about that stuff is a quick way to draw the mods' ire. Just b/c anyone could find it doesn't make posting it right. I could find some illegal porno anywhere, but posting it makes me in the wrong as well
OK, Thanks for the info. I just tried to be helpful, I am sorry if I upset anyone.
I wasn't the moderator who removed your thread but there is a little part in the rules that says something about:

1. Keep anything off the board that would get it shut down (read this is porn, illegal activities, etc).

The Nissan Manual is "proprietary material" owned by Nissan and cannot be reproduced and distributed without their permission, in fact, they charge a lot for a printed one and will allow a download for $20. I have no idea whether or not the site you linked to had Nissan's permission, but if they don't and our site allows the link, TitanTalk could be found liable.

I have asked the other moderators about the removal of your thread and hopefully the one who did remove it will contact you and explain why the thread was removed if my explanation is not sufficiently clear for you.
Well I've learned tonight NOT to post links of that nature anymore. I didn't realize the full extent of it, but I do now.
Don't sweat it man...FIGHT THE POWER!! (just kidding, mods!!!!!!!!!!)
The funny thing is.....that site WAS charging from what I saw. It wasn't giving away anything.
Although I understand why the mods deleted it, because the content on that page is obtained by people uploading their manuals, I would like to say this:

I just bought a 30k truck. If Nissan thinks I'm going to shell out another $20 for a pdf manual of it they can bite me. Sharing these across the internet is no different in my eyes as bringing over a manual that you bought to a friends house to let him use.

I mean - lets get down to brass tacks here. Nissan isn't hurting in sales because of shared manual PDF's right?! :)
Glad I saw the link before it was deleted!!

:readclose lol jk... if you didn't get em and want em PM. :smoke:

also, nobody saw this post.
Why not just buy the service manuals for $6.99 on eBay and be done with it? It doesn't get much cheaper than that. And anmut, if you can't afford $20 for your truck, maybe you just need to consider it a mod. I can tell you, I've gotten more than $20 worth of value out of it, as has about a dozen others who've asked questions and benefited from the contents. Geez...
It's not worth taking it personal.

Most forums have that rule and will remove them to avoid any legal issues. The tough part is being the Mod who has to remove something that was posted with good intentions because you never know how it's going to be reacted to, but it is a rule that needs to be enforced in order to keep the site running without any legal disputes.

So where is this illegal porn you speak of that you've never seen or looked up!!! LoL
Thread closed. Issue resolved and handled.
