My truck is a big wind screen!

Ok, it's been a lotta years since I had a truck as big as a Titan so I've probably forgotten that something this big rocks and rolls when it gets hit sideways with 75mph winds.

Usually I only get buffeted like I was today when I'm towing our trailer and get hit sideways.

No wonder there are overturned trucks, downed trees and floating airplanes all over the place today in Rochester, NY area.

- Check out this quote I found in the new paper. Around 5:15 a.m., whipping winds momentarily lifted a 50-passenger regional aircraft into the air, said Airport Director David Damelio. The aircraft, which flies under the US Airways banner, was parked at a gate for overnight storage and was not operating at the time of the incident, he said. The incident damaged the front gears and tail of the aircraft, Damelio said.

Yeah when I'm on the interstate and getting blown around, I always try to remember how the big rigs feel!

You're just not going fast enough! Make your own wind!! :thedevil:
In Rochester too.

This morning I passed a semi that was overturned after getting pushed over by the wind on 490. I heard that in Buffalo the wind managed to lift a parked 737 up. Better stated it sounded like it tipped it up for a bit lifting one set of tires off the ground. Not sure I buy that but I guess it's possible.
I live in the Texas panhandle, Dalhart, wind blows here all the time, you get use too it. One thing for sure is your mpg drop big time when you're running into it. LOL

Old man voice:

When I was your age our truck's fuel efficiency was listed in gas stations per mile. We drove uphill with headwinds everywhere we went, coming AND going!
Where in Western New York are ya? I'm in Lancaster.
He's in Rochacha (Rochester). I am too.

Cool. Haven't seen too many people from our neck of the woods on the forum.
Webster actually, but nobody outside of Rochester knows where it so, so I just tell then Rochester.

Interestingly, the Hoselton, Vission, and Ideal seem go through trucks as I always see different ones at the dealer - yet I haven't seen another Titan around town - I don't get into Rochester much - at least not for another few months when our offices relocate to Henrietta.

I actually live in Victor, same deal with Webster, nobody knows it.

Hoselton is the worst dealer on earth. I'm starting to see a lot more Titans around here. I frequently pass one of our other members on the way to work (Quad T).
Where did you get your truck from? I was going to get it from Vision but decided I liked the lifetime power train and engine warranty from Hoselton. They've serviced my Toyota's for years and I haven't had any issues with them.

Ideal had the best dealer supplied warranty but because were 3 mos old at the time I purchased, the lack of a track record scared me away.

I can't speak to their Toyota wing, but the Nissan section is a joke. They are incompetent and what's worse is they know it.

On the sales side they lied to me and tried selling me an aftermarket/3rd party warranty instead of the Nissan warranty I wanted. They also failed to send the info to Geico they were supposed to and I had to ask them to do it 5 times (Geico almost canceled coverage on my truck).

Service side was horrible!!! Granted I had a lemon but it didn't help that every time the truck went in for small things I had to fight with them. They couldn't find TSBs (even though I provided them to them and they claimed it wasn't in their system until they magically found them when I stood over their shoulder). I had to bring my truck in multiple times because they would "forget" to do the work that was on the original service request. Sometimes they even marked stuff as being done which they didn't do but still charged Nissan for the work anyway. They scratched my interior and tried to claim they didn't do it, then I whipped out my camera and showed them pictures of the truck 2 minutes before I walked in their doors. So they take it back and scratched another piece which required a 3rd visit after which they told me that they felt bad and THEY suggested I go to Vision...can you imagine this?

If you want, I might still have a few of the "free oil change" tokens they gave me for every time they screwed up.
