Hey folks.

I'm a former truck dude who is constantly pining for his little orange monster truck (a 97' Nissan stripped down 4x4 with no power accessories and tons of fun). Why did I ever sell that truck! :boxing:

Anyway, I have an opportunity to buy a 2005 Titan LE 4x4 king cab. Price is $22K with 25K miles. Being an LE it is loaded, also has the tow package installed.

I know very little about the big Nissans, so I was hoping I might get some insight here on a few things:

1) Based on my research this seems like a pretty good deal for a 2005 (btw, it is very clean) - what say ye?
2) Are there any pitfalls with the 2005? What should I look for when I check this truck out again (for the twentieth time)
3) Anyone with kids have comments about the Titan? My guys are 4 and 9 so no baby carriers or anything. Looks like there is enough room in the back. Of course, I might feel differently when they are 13 and 17.

As you might have guessed, I had to ditch the orange beastie when kiddo #2 entered the scene. I'm driving my old but lovable Accord but it obviously ain't no truck. :domohit:

Thanks all!

price seems to be a little steep for me im sure you could talk the stealership down a little???
i have a king cab and its a little tight but very duable i can sit 4 adults fairly cumfortably it really just depends on who's in the front seats and how far they lean there seat back im a big ole guy so i sometimes sit in the back and let someone else drive that is smaller so i can stretch out i hate having the steering wheel in my crotch!!!!!
have you looked at the crew cabs alot of room i wanted the king cab because i tow a boat a little esier with it than i would a king cab but that might be your best bet with kids

Thanks, carver. I think there is some flexibility on the price. I can probably squeeze out another $2K.

The crew cab is definitely nice, but the bed seemed a bit short for my needs at 5.5'. Even the 6.5' bed on the king cab is a wee bit small. Guess I'm just trying to have my cake and eat it too since I definitely use a truck as a truck (towing, hauling, etc).

That said, I know what you mean about the wheel-in-the-crotch. Of course, that's why I get furry steering wheel covers. :)

You can definitely get a better deal. I bought my 05 in August with 54K (a little high) LE CC 4x4 loaded, Nav, RF, Rear entertainment, leather, big tow for $21,300. I got lucky and the truck was sitting on the stealerships lot for more than 60 days. I was looking at a 05 KC with less options and 31K for $18K. That was a good deal too, but he dragged his feet after I offered him less.

At far as things to look out for, they all have some small issues. Thats what makes them special! :hat:
