Turn the the temperature knob to cold, leave it there for a minute or two and then turn it back to hot. Does it make a popping noise inside the dash? If so its the actuator that switches from hot to cold.
Yeah when mine quit working if I turned it to cold then to hot it would make a loud pop noise. It turned out to be the actuator inside the dash and they had to take out the whole dash to replace it.Slight515 said:Yeah it was working great that morning, then I went to get in it that night and it was just blowing cold air. I guess I will take it into the dealer in the morning, hopefully its nothing major. I tried turning the cold air on for a couple of minutes then the heat but that didnt work. Thanks for the suggestions and help.
took about 2 months lol. I had to bring it in 6 or 7 times to get it fixed. The first 2 times they kept telling me nothing was wrong, I got a thermometer that goes in the vent and it was blowing at 80 degrees right inside the vent. I tested my coworkers titan and his was blowing out at 140 degrees. I went back in and raised hell and they finally quit trying to tell me I was making stuff up. They changed a couple easy to get to parts and that didnt help. Once they finally figured out that it was the actuator in the dash they had the truck for 5 days I think, but that was because they had to order the part and just kept the truck while while they were waiting. The first few time I didnt get a loaner, once they figured out they had to take the whole dash out and keep it for a while I was given a loaner.Slight515 said:Yeah I am really not looking forward to bringing it in if thats the case. How long did it take them to get it fixed? Did they give you a lender car?
1. If this is the case, check your fluid level to make sure that it's full.fpd7 said:I've had my Titan a little over a week......Same Thing. Blowing cold air for several miles, mess with the controller, and then, wahlaa, HEAT. I really don't want to leave it at the dealer. :crying:
