Well I just got done doing the 4x4 gas Truck drags at the KOT trucks here in Syracuse,Ny... It was only a 200 ft race. I didn't do to bad, the only thing to beat me was a WRX w/ launch control that they let run for some reason. Right now I have a K&N intake, Banks exhaust, and Superchips. I have done some reading about ppl changing out the y pipes on the banks. I want to run headers but not sure what I can run with the emissions testing here in NY. Also I guys I am not very smart about these Berk pipes either? I also plan on buying the JWT cams and an uprev. My question is should i re-do the whole exhaust system and if so how? My dyno numbers were 281 max power and 352 max torque. I just want it to go faster, don't really care what it cost.... I want to beat the WRX lol

Well here are a couple of the runs I had, not the greatest.

You want to beat the wrx? It depends on the mods the WRX had, but it takes almost nothing for a wrx to run into the 12's, i doubt you'll be going much faster than 12's lol.

And if you think you'll beat him off the line, remember, he makes as much torque as you do bahahaha.

Once you have your cams and uprev tune, it's time to get spray if you want to beat wrx's.

Yeah i know it would be tough for me to beat him but I would like to give him a little scare lol. Oh well
its definately possible....like woot said though it doesnt take much to get a wrx into the 12s...get headers cams and uprev and you will be at least 4-6 lengths faster to 100mph... IMO :)
The AEM Water/ Methanol Injection kit is a good way to keep your truck running steady all day at the track, while adding a little bit more power (granted you'll already be running race fuel so the octane boost isn't absolutely key, but the elements of a 50/50 water methanol injection can add power & help keeping the engine cool, especially with an UpRev tune, so the injectors can start at a certain RPM... i'm ready to pull the trigger on this myself)

and correct me if i'm wrong but you can still run a Methanol Injection Kit with spray.
Now what are the best headers to get? The problem I have is I live in NY and I have to pass an inspection. Will it cause my check engine light to come on?
Nismo lts are the best but if you need to pass smog or at least a visual jba shorties with hi flow cats will pass visual and sniffer otherwise just gut your oem cats and run the BERK b pipes a d you won't get the CEL.... This is what I am running and a few others on here with no CELs.... Another member on here just went to lt Doug thorolys from gutted cats and only gained .1 in the 1/4 mile so as long as you get uprev either setup will outperform what you have now...

It needs to pass a visual and smog test. So I need to pick up a set of jba shorites, some berk b pipes and uprev? Looks like I will be doing some shopping lol. The berk b pipes, now are those high flow cats? I guess I am a little confussed on them. I am still new to the whole going fast thing.
i wouldnt do the berk b pipes on your 04 i would just run the jba shorties with pipes welded to them and have a hi flow cat welded to each pipe ferther down the line. so right off the headers you wont have a cat acting as a brick wall(like they have it stock) put them ferther underneath the truck .... the berk b pipes are hi flow cats but they wont pass emissions if those are your only cats lol...so if you do need it to pass smog really the only good way is jba shorties with highflow cats, try and make the exhast on each side equal length and do duals or do equal length pipes into a muffler 2inlets 1exit out....
I hate dual exhaust coming out the back. Where I live every truck has them on it. I would like to keep the backs if possible but I will be faster with out it or some other exhaust then I might be open to try that too. I just ordered my Uprev and my Transgo.... also picked up a set up JBA's from 08crewcab. I guess I should probably pick up the Truetrac next then after some high flow cats.
