Ok All I am stumped and frustrated. I have a 2006 Titan XE with the Tow package. All of my trailer wiring functions are working brakes turn signals etc. However my running lights don't work. I have checked all the fuses under the hood, replaced the relay under the hood. As well I have checked the relays under the dash, all seems to be working fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Your post is a little confusing. You say trailer running lights not working, but you talk about what you checked on your truck. That's fine to possibly eliminate anything on the truck, but what have you checked on the trailer? Also, might be helpful to know the year, make, and model of trailer you have.
Having said that, do the truck's headlights and taillights work with the trailer hooked up? Have you checked the trailer cable connector and the connector on the truck that the trailer cable connects to? Maybe the running lights pin isn't making good contact? Here is a link showing standard pin outs for trailer/tow vehicle connectors.

Did the trailer running lights used to work and now they don't?

Maybe there are fuses (a fuse?) in the trailer that control the running lights? Is that fuse (fuses) ok?

There was a recall that added two fuses in a holder way up under the dash.

Ok Hammster, They did work but now they don't. It doesn't matter what trailer i have them hooked to they don't work. Everything works as normal with or wiithout the trailer hooked up. I ahve checked every fuse and I mean every fuse in the truck and nothing, when it come to the running lights for the trailer. Connector is fine as well

No. But. There are some Titans where an extra fuse holder was added. Way up under the dash. Near the BCM. If you are on a browser, search trailer running lights.

You say connector is fine as well. You verified there is 12V at the running lights pin? If so, the truck is fine and the problem is in the trailer. That's why it's important to know what trailer you have. Or are you saying you are having this problem with multiple trailers?
Don't misunderstand me, I'm trying to be helpful with troubleshooting and understanding what you have done to help get to the bottom of it. Walrus may be on to something if it is indeed a fuse recall.

I'm not on a browser so I can't hunt down that thread. It was in the last few months.

I had a dead pin in my 7 prong. Had to bend it some with a screwdriver and she was fine after that.

Fuse 36, a 10 amp fuse in the power dist panel under the hood (loosen PDP from engine to gain access), routes power from the tail light relay (active when tail lights are on, and lights truck tail lights) to Trailer Tow Relay #1, and on to the red wire at the 7-pin.

For that matter, Trailer Tow Relay #2 routes hot power from a 30 amp fusible link to the wht/blu wire on the 7-pin, that is your 12V+ for the trailer.

There are two more relays to be concerned about, Left and Right Trailer Turn Relay. Both energized by turn signal, and route power from fuse 60 in the fuse and relay box. It is a 15 amp fuse. The outputs of these relays also go to the 7-pin.

The above count for 4 of the 7 pins. The others are ground (blk), electric brake output (brn/wht) and backup light signal (yel/blk). The last is seldom used for backup lights but can sometimes be used for a backup camera.

The following diagram is from the Haynes manual #72070, Nissan Titan 2004 thru 2014. Got it at an major auto shop, money well-spent.

Here's as much of the wiring diagram as I could upload:

I went crazy trying to chase down a similar issue; this what I did for $10.
Blevinger, his issue is running lights, while your was turn signals. I looked at your fix, and shuddered! In all likelihood, you tapped into the grn/blk and yel/blk wires going INTO the relays. Your relays or the 15 amp fuse in the fuse box, fuse 60, may have been the culprit. The PROBLEM with tapping directly into the vehicle wires I mentioned is that they come from the computer. The wiring, load, and computer output are designed for truck lights only. For the additional load of the trailer, (which may be accompanied by poor wiring, corroded connectors, etc,) Nissan inserted the two relays mentioned, to isolate such a load from the computer. Glad yours works, but I wouldn't do it. :serious:

I had this issue.... I really do not when my trailer running lights stop working. However, it was discover the running lights did not work a couple of weeks ago... I was under the impression that my running lights had work previously, but, to my surprise, the was no way the lights had ever worked. I check all of the fuses, and relays that are accessible under the hood behind the battery (All Good). The missing relay under the dash on the left side of the steering column. Easy to get to once you remove the bottom panel, just two screw, lift up and pop out. You will see the three tow relays installed the one on the top is missing. This was due to a factory, mix up. I purchase the relay for 19.99 at AutoZone (part #788820 ). I also watched the video on ETow.com.. It was helpful as well. Once I replaced the relay, the lights are working now, as advertise.

The picture showing the missing relay was taken upside down... Once you remove the panel, the relay will be the one on the top... There will be a spot for a relay.... I hope this helps you with time..... I spent a two weeks on this issue.
