Follow up on my last post, a month ago my truck 04 LE CC with 65K
started stalling and not starting, Had an independent mechanic look at
it he said the MAS and cat's need replacement, So I take it to the dealership
they finally diagnose it as a bad ECU which is under warranty till 80k, 28 days later I FINALLY get my truck back from the dealership with new ECU (Nissan took that long to release the part) On my way home it stalls and again, a hard time starting, Finally get home and now Im stuck till Monday to contact dealership. Any suggestion on what's wrong? Guess Ill mention the MAS and cats to the dealership AGAIN.

Think Ill start to look for a replacement truck (I will never again buy a Nissan)

because Fords, GMCrap and Dodge never have problems... :jester: good luck buddy. my next truck will be another Nissan. btw, two guys i know have Nissan Hardbody trucks from 89 and 90 where the 89 has over 400,000 miles and the 90 has over 500,000. why wouldn't you be patient and wait for nissan to properly diagnose the problem or take it to another dealer and request the master tech diagnose the problem. well, whatever.
something smells funny in here???? eh whatever...
All vehicles have problems. I would try another dealer if you have that option.when I had my brake judder problem the dealer in Pensacola, Fl just blew me off, so I took it to the dealer in Mobile, AL and they fixed me right up. Be patient with Nissan, I've had Ford and Dodge, trust me the Nissan is much better.
Is it impossible to have problems with the great nissan?
must be a hater.

Brakes 4 times (F O U R T I M E S) thats 4X
Radio/CD player replaced
2 times dash rattles/vibrations.
Blower fan Noise (somewhat fixed)
Rear seat pocket replaced.
leaking rear axle seals replaced. (twice)
transmission cooler line replaced.
Alignment problems.
interior overhead lights replaced
ECU replaced.

does this sound like a great truck?

I must be a secret agent from ford.
just asking for some help.

cry me a river buddy... i had my motor replaced because of a bad catalytic convertor, also had the brakes fixed 4 times, tranny line replaced, BCM replaced and a few other nuiances but I STILL LOVE my truck. stop your whining, buy yourself a ford and at least save me the grief of having to read crap like "and i'm not ever buying a Nissan again"
Hey, if you don't like it just go get another truck. Like hooligan said I'm sure the others never have problems. You also have to remember that you bought the truck in the first year of production. I was just trying to be the voice of reason.

Let me guess.....all at the same dealership service department. TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! Your dealership has been screwing you or is full of numb skull techs. There is no way Nissan took 28 days to send them an ECU. My dealership got a entire front wiring harness in 2 days when I had my accident last winter. FWIW I have no issues like alignment, squeaks or rattles after slamming the front of the truck into a rotten stump after sliding on black ice. That is why I needed the harness. Autobody Tech was impressed with the stoutness of the Titans frame BTW.

Problems happen. How a service department fixes them is the key. I have not had to go back to my dealership ever after they fixed a problem with my truck.

FWIW I highly doubt clogged cats are the problem. MAS sound a little more plausible though that usually trips a CEL. Did the dealership not test drive the truck after the repairs were made? Mine does for anything nonroutine.
Thanks for the useful information hooligan "Take it to the dealer"
perhaps you can find someone to re-read my post to you. It was
at the dealership for 1 month, on the way home it died. Just looking for some help, instead I get answers from lilliputians who spend time listening to Justin Timberlake. "Cry me a river"

couldn't agree more. i had my entire engine replaced within 13 days (X amount of days to have the engine crated in from dechard, tn or canton, ms and X amount of days to have it installed)

be patient, do your due diligence to acquire some info and confront the service advisor with an inkling of what's happening and what's acceptable and unacceptable. least now that the ECU has been replaced the techs can work from there and diagnose something else. not all techs know wtf they are doing so its a must you request the master tech or ask the service advisor who the most experienced tech is and to have them check the truck out. but its all for not cause you're buying another brand anyways.
I do think the suggestions made by a couple of folks here are worth repeating. Take it to a DIFFERENT dealer. I've heard horror stories about some. Others, like the one I'm taking mine to tomorrow have been absolutely great. What's the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Try a different dealer.

And if you have used more than one dealer to help you with your issues, you haven't stated that specifically in your post. :dunno:

before i call anyone a [email protected], reread my post where it says, "take it to ANOTHER dealer" not "take it to the dealer"

no wonder you have so many issues... you can't even distinguish between the two.

btw, "cry me a river" is an old adage Justin Timberlake incorporated into the title of his song, its not like he came up with the saying... LOL
Yes the dealership did drive it. and yes it was 4 weeks to get the ECU
I called Nissan consumer affairs after 3 weeks and one week after that
they shipped the part.
Yea like everyone else said...take it to another dealer. I must have a good dealer or something becuase they send me cookies and call me constantly to see if I am satisfied with the truck. I also get free service.

Looks like somebody needs a time out. Check your attitude at the door and you will find the members here to be a valuable source of information.
Wow, what I was looking for was perhaps and answer or some helpful advice
that I can take to the dealer, Not "take it to another dealer" Thanks for trying

I do have an 03 GMC and yes, it also has some issues but not many.

You don't find it odd that you called consumer affairs after 3 weeks and MIRACULOUSLY the ECU was shipped to your dealership? Sounds like CA ripped your dealership a new one and got them to put the part on order. You read it here, people have gotten complete engines faster than you got a simple ECU. That isn't Nissan, it is a service department who does not have their Shtuff together.
sorry about your probs...i haven't experienced anything that was an inconvience to repair free of charge. Lemon law where you are? Sue the guy that sold it to you? i dunno...good luck thou ..!

But it seems evident that the dealer is part of the problem here, so the suggestion of finding a different dealer seems legitimate. Best of luck to you though.
