Need help

I was pulling a camper yesterday and was cruising along at 60mph when the cruise control kicked off and the set light started flashing also the brake lights(both in the back and above the cab) will not shut off even with the key off and also you can put the gas peddle to the floor and it will only go up to around 2000 rpm. The cruise control also will not work. The truck shifts through the gears fine and will get up to highway speed. Any ideas?

The little plastic button that depresses the brake switch when you foot is off the pedal has rotted and fallen out.

Look on the floor near the brake pedal , you might see the remnants of the old button.
