So I put a new hitch on this weekend and used the wiring harness that is located under the rear bumper. I plugged this into a harness that turns it into the plug I needed for my trailer. My problem is I also bought the relay package that includes the 2 blues and a brown. When I open my fuse box it looks like the pic below. I placed one blue and the brown in the empty slots as there is not another spot for the last blue. I tested everything on the trailer and everything works but the brake light on the right side of the trailer and the right blinker. I checked the two 10 amp fuses under the drivers side dash and both are good.

Any ideas what could be wrong?? Really frustrated with the whole thing. Any help would be appreciated.

UPDATE!!!!

So I took my truck back to Lowes today and though I would hook it up to another new trailer to see if I was gonna get the same results as my trailer, and low and behold the new trailer at Lowes worked. So it looks like it may not be my Titan after all. Taking my trailer back to Lowes at end of the week for them to look at it.

Wonder what it could be??

buy a cheap multimeter at harbor frt. if you're going to tow. gremlins are easy to locate by doing pin voltage checks at the back of the truck. No voltage...truck issue. voltage....trailer issue.

Two comments on this great advice. #1: I have over a dozen centech mutimeters from harbor freight, and I've never paid for one. The coupons for 'free with any purchase' for them are out there in the millions, usually attached to (and used with) '20% off any purchase' as well.

#2: a simple test light actually works better for this in my experience. Rarely does the reading on a multimeter of harbor freight quality accurately read during a blinker test. I use an extra LED side marker light with alligator clips for testing my trailer plug at the truck.

Funny thing here, is that I bought my Titan new with a receiver hitch, all factory stuff. First time I towed, no trailer lights. Took me a few hours to figure out, the truck was purchased with the hitch and wiring, but no tow light fuses were ever installed.. You've already covered that route though.

Seriously? Is that normal? I'll have to check mine since I haven't towed yet but have a track weekend coming up. I'll use my 7 pin tester but wondering if there is a quick link someone can post showing the fuse box location and where those fuses are in it? Thanks.

Not that I have actual experience, but I seriously doubt it. Sounds more like just an odd oversight coming out of the factory.

Yeah, I've never heard of it elsewhere either. At the time I had about 300 miles on it, and the sales manager (Not even the service guys) at the dealership ran across the lot and got me one from the service dept. It was most likely just an odd oversight as stated.
